"Where Were You...."
Look, I'm 90% computer-illiterate, and wasn't able to figure out how to create a link you could just click on -- but I found something worth seeing. Go to YouTube.com, type "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" into the search bar, then click on the picture of a woman holding up a sign saying "God Bless You" -- I think it's the third choice down.
Whoever put this video together, I very much appreciate his effort. His choice of pictures to match the lyrics of Alan Jackson's song was perfect. Most of the photos I'd never seen -- I quit watching TV and reading about it about two weeks after 9-11, not because I wanted to "move on" but because I needed to be able to function like a normal person again (well -- like myself, anyway....). I won't say this video brought back the rage and grief I felt, at the time, because they're still very much a part of me. Unlike some -- I don't easily forget or forgive, once a certain line has been crossed.
The last image in the video, of a firefighter going up stairs against the flow of bodies going down, is haunting.

I was going to add to my original post -- I almost miss, in a way, the short time after 9-11 when, except for a few people like Susan Sontag who really, really don't get it, we knew who we were, what we had to do, and were one people. Now....
Not asking for political or social commentary. There are a host of reasons why what we shared in the last few months of 2001, fell apart. We all have our own opinions, would place blame in different places, on different people, if invited to do so. That's not why I posted this. I came across this video, it made me hurt and feel good both at the same time, and thought some of you others might get something out of it.

I fell into the trap like many people and forgot how horrible that day was. Thanks again for the wakeup and the reminder of who we are fighting besides the enemies and traitors in our own political system. [}:)][}:)]
