Back problems are never fun[:(]. Hopefully it is just a pinched nerve at worst.

    sounds like...Syatica (sp?)

my wife suffers from this, from time to time

try avoiding twisting and bending motions, this will bring on an istant attack.

also try putting a tennis ball under your foot while standing and stretch out you lower back muscles. place your body wieght onto the ball don't let your knee bend by slowily rolling the ball side to side and front to back you can stretch out the lower back. my wife learned that if you do this when you first feel the muscles tighten you can save yourself some down time by stretching it out on the spot. she now carries a ball everywhere she goes.

Main thing avoid bending and twisting motions. that is the worst combination of movments one can do when suffering from syatica (sp?)

Disclaimer....not responsible for personal injury should you perform thee above exercise incorrectily. Oh and the balls POP from time to time.[;)]

spinal decomp if bad disc is pinching nerve...paid big $$$ for 5 weeks treatment that really worked..went to chiro that was one of first in kansas... so figure it was the cost of education ...got cheap home unit...every one is different but this was so simple it is stupid...& works...can't do this if you have had a fusion or some other kinds of back issues..

Last December I was told to check a machine that just came in to see if it would be any problem unloading from the 53' semi, our dock guy had 1 crate, and the machine (a forklift) I had to check left out of the full 53' load, I walked about 15' into the semi and the truck took off, the dock guy had asked the semi driver to adjust the axle to lower the deck, (he did not bother to tell anyone he was doing it)I been having back problems ever since[:(]

Cat - It comes from riding big heavy motorcycles.

Hope you get feeling better, and if you really need to dispose of the bike, I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands.
