    I have heard of putting paint on toy guns so they not look so real, but this?????

    Painting real guns to look like toys makes no sense.

    Yes it is hideous, but they could have put on a decent set of grips and also have painted the trigger and cylinder release black, then it would have been a slightly less hideous form.
