HOW TO CALL THE POLICE
George Phillips of Meridian Mississippi was going up to bed when his
> wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which
> she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to
> go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed
> stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Are any of those
> people in your house" and he said no.
> Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply
stay
> in
> his house, lock his doors and an officer would be along when
available.
> George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police
again.
> "Hello I just called you few seconds ago because there were people in
my
> shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just
shot
> them
> all".
> Then he hung up. Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed
> Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips residence.
Of

There ought to be one day-- just one-- when there is open season on senators.

One old-timer I used to work with told me about one time several of his neighbors were out in the street yelling and pushing & shoving, and the cops said they'd be 40 min to an hour.
He hung up, thought about it, then called back and told them there was a naked 20 year-old woman running around out there.
Presto! Police!0 -
A certain female I know once called the sheriff's office and told them to send the coroner right away. The dispatcher asked who had died. She said that it would be her ex husband as soon as he finished breaking down the front door. Deputies arrived soon after.[8D] 0 -
True Story, I was there.
A good ole boy from around these parts saw a man with his pirogue
about to put it in the creek that runs along my place. He stopped
with some of his friends and held the young man and called the
police. By this time a small crowd had gathered in front of my
place and noticing this I walked out to see what was going on.
The owner of the pirogue told me the story and he had called the
police. 20 mins later he called again and was told there would be a unit out there as soon as they had one available. 40 mins later
he called back and was told he would have to wait. He told the
dispatcher if there isn't a unit out here in 10 mins there was
going to be a killin' to just send the coroner. 5 mins later
a unit arrives with lights and siren with 3 more behind him 2 mins
later.0
