Judge removed from bench after he asked witness to drop her pants

For the first time in more than 35 years a Southwest Virginia Judge is removed from his post for inappropriate behavior.
The Virginia Supreme Court says that former District Court Judge Mickey Shull violated Canons of Judicial Conduct.
Shull sat on the bench in Scott, Lee and Wise Counties.
The complaint came out of Wise when Shull was filled in on a juvenile custody case.
It is rare to have a judge removed from the bench, but the Virginia Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission decided this is one of those times.
The state Supreme Court agreed.
According to the published opinion of the supreme court-the judge admitted that he twice asked a witness to pull down her pants in open court so that he could examine an injury she said she had on her thigh.
The court says that his behavior on the bench compromises the integrity of the court and there is enough evidence to remove him from office.
There are also complaints that Judge Shull decided other cases by flipping a coin, and that also played into the decision to remove him.

Have you heard of a judge that's been beating off in the courtroom while presiding? I think it was 2003-4-ish sometime, can't find it anymore. 0 -
My memory isn't so good anymore but wasn't this posted 2-3 years ago? 0 -
