for those who think iran should be allowed to.....

...have nuclear weapons, how would you feel if the united states decided to drop the issue and sanctions and just send them 5 nuclear war heads ? would you be opposed to it ?

    How about if we give them an even dozen? But...we put remote detonators in them and set them off in about a month and blame them for failing to handle them correctly.

    Honestly...we can either work to prevent a radically unstable country from getting this technology or we deal with them once they have them. The premise of a peaceful program is a front. If that was their main purpose, they would readily accept help from the US or Europe.

    The Soviet Union could have been held in check much better after WW II if they had never achieved the power. Once they had it, they exerted their influence over Europe and Asia knowing that the US would not risk a nuclear war.

    you cannot stop "progress" or scientific development if you accept that terminology...whether nuclear, biologic, chemical, or newer types of conventional weapons....that is just the way it works....but rest assured MADD is a powerful deterrent to just about any society..the number of nations with nucs will only increase....we need to maintain our strong society & military position as a deterrent to weapons usage along with new strategies to win friends & influence around the globe

    MAD only works sane countries. The soviets wanted to continue to live in their little, "Worker's paradise." They had no real desire to have us burn them from the face of the earth. I don't know that Iran's leadership is necessarily sane enough to not see nuclear annihilation as a risk worth taking.
