you can get one in you house if your local laws permit it,,,you can not get one to do your personal collection,,,,you have to be able to show you are in business to sell and make a profit

Not really, the batfe only looks at transfers, not profits.
no one can make you be a sucessful businessman.[;)]

whether or not you actually make a profit, they require that you be in business to make it. just because a person might suck at it doesnt mean they are not in business

    Yes,
They require you to have transfers to other people, my last inspection, I had I think 20 or so transfers that year, about a dozen 4473's the balance to other ffl's in other states[;)]
They were happy, said I was obviously not just collecting[:D]
They never asked how much I made[:D]

All that said. The 01 ffl is what, $280 for 3yrs? I'm not sure about the number. you have to do a fair number of purchases to break even, if all you're trying to do is save the transfer fee. I got the C&R and work regularly with a local ffl for everything else. I'm happy.[8D]

Thats for the 1st 3 years, it's $90.00 for every 3 after that. @ $20.00 per transfer it don't take long to get to the break even point[;)]
(thats if I was a "real" ffl)

Just make shure you KNOW the rules before you do any real business at all. One mistake isn't tiny (no matter what it may be) if you are an FFL holder. You could end up in court proving you hadn't done anything wrong.....when all you did was forget something stupid like...

you must own a used gun for at least 15 days before you sell it

a multiple purchase form has to be sent to the national tracing center if more than one handgun is purchased within 5 business days

the 4473 must have a physical address (no PO boxes) on the form when you do the form

non-imigrant aliens must have proof they have lived at the address for at least 3 months (power bills etc copied and included)

Nobody can buy a gun for another person....there are exclusions....but forget them because you don't want to go there.

There are a lot more rules to this stuff.....just like pistols and being 21. Why....I have NO IDEA....but an 18 yr old can buy an AK-47 but you have to be 21 to buy a pistol gripped shotgun....go figure.

    Be careful
