Looking at picture #2, I first thought that someone had modified the gun with some sort of electronic locking device (see red light, etc. right under cylinder release). Finally, I concluded that it is the reflection of your camera in the shiny surface. Gotta love them shiny Colts. [;)][:p] 0 -

I doubt that anyone will play baseball with this one....I am certain not to sell it to anyone as careless as that one bunch. Normally people appreciate a PERFECT collector's grade firearm....and do everything they can to take care of it. 0 -

Soooo......why would I want an expensive revolver that has a crane/cylinder that only latches in the rear? Thereby leaving the front unsecured? Thereby making for more side to side play in regards to bullet alignment leaving the cylinder and making the jump into the forcing cone? Think I will stick with my Ruger SP-101 which of course latches the rear of the cylinder but also the front of the crane/cylinder.
Just my observation since it was asked for. No, wait, it wasn't asked for. Nevermind.

Stainless Pythons came out around 1984 and were T prefix revolvers. (After that, the serial numbers aren't readily available.)0 -

Your Python was made in 1981.
Stainless Pythons debuted in the catalog in 1983 with 4" and 6" only. The others followed in 1984.
