Prayers please - - Last update
Folks, my friend's son and son-in-law were driving a fuel tanker and crashed just north of Dallas in the Lake Dallas area of I-35E. It crashed and is burning, and has I-35 shut down both directions.
All the news we got was that one man jumped from the truck cab and was on fire. Nothing about a second truck driver, but one report said two people were careflighted with burns. We don't know if that meant both of them got out of the truck, or it was one out of the truck and someone else.
Pray for Rick Webb's son and son-in-law. I'm sorry, but I don't know their names.
Thanks,
Danny
Update,
Rick's son Matt was burned over 98% of his body. He climbed out of the truck and ran across the interstate on fire from head to toe. They tried and tried to put the flames out and couldn't, and someone finally got them put out with a fire extinguisher. They've been told he will not survive.
His son-in-law (I think his name is Ron, but not sure) is in critical condition. Please remember this family in your thoughts and prayers.
Last Update.
Matt Webb, Rick's son, passed away last night with God's mercy. He was able to see his family before he passed, but they are traumatized by their last sight of him. He was driving and being trained by his brother-in-law, Roland Mattern, Rick's son-in-law.
Matt was 27, Roland is about the same age, maybe a little younger.
Roland is burned over 33% of his body, but they expect him to survive. Both Roland's and Matt's wives were pregnant. Please remember all of these folks in your prayers.
Rick wants to thank everyone who remembers his family in their prayers and asks that you continue to pray.
I also thank you.

Thinking of and praying for these guys. They say that if you add the percentage of burn over the entire body and add the persons age to that and if it is over 100...very rare to survive. Hard to say what you would pray for here...I think I will go the "end their pain route". What a terrible scenario, and I hope their family is going to hang in there. Just, so Sad. 0 -

It was heartbreaking when you first posted this, and then the last update that mentioned both their wives being pregnant was the real heartbreaker. All those involved are in our prayers. 0 -

Charlie,
This is a friends family, not related to me. Rick (the father) and I have worked together for 30 years. He's a good man and was looking forward to the new grandchildren. Both women are due to deilver any day now.
All of us here are heart sick and trying to get a trust fund established for Ricks coming grandson. HR is working to get it set up on payroll deduction. We've already collected just over $1,000 this morning.
You never know what tomorrow will bring, and no one should have to bury their children.
God bless the Webb's and Mattern's.0 -
