I watched BORAT tonight
I watched the first 40 minutes and turned it off. What a waste of $2.60 to rent it. [xx(]

Borat is funny (not)like Tom Greene was funny (not) (BRIEFLY married to Drew Barrymore)-where's HE now-like Allan Funt was funny
(not) on the ol' Candid Camera. The only reason to watch ANY of them is to await somebody kicking the crap outa them but that never happened-or, at least they never showed it.
Mocking people, suckering people, etc. is not humor. Last fall in San Fransisco, I encountered this black street person at Fisherman's Warf that thought it was funny to hide behind some branches he was carrying and shake them at people whe you walked past so as to startle you. He had a hat on the ground for donations. I jerked them away from him and asked him if he'd like to eat them. He kept repeating "Is it 'cuz I'm black?" and I kept yelling "It isn't funny!"......the stuff that city will put up with....0 -

Hehe, that guy is a local celebrity. I remember seeing him when I went to San Fran on a school trip. Everyone who visits Fisherman's Wharf should be warned to beware any bushes or bush-like objects.0 -

Most of the movie critics are a bunch of morons anyway and wouldn't know a good movie if they saw it.
I would suggest that anyone that enjoyed Borat get some serious counciling. They a far more of a threat to society than us gun owners are.0 -

Just saw it myself. My dad thought it was the funniest movie he's seen since Monty Python's Life of Brian- I laughed once or twice, found it mildly amusing, but nothing great. 0 -

He plays on the prejudice and narcissistic qualities of folks.

I thought the movie had some funny scenes. However, I have never liked the type of humor where you have to trick someone just so you can secretly mock them. Also, Sasha Cohen is a Jew who has a history of anti-Christian acts and statements. He is VERY liberal and often a critic of America. His mockery and portrayal of southern Americans and Christians was no accident and was done with malice born out of hatred and contempt.
The average age of the american movie audience is 13-22 and this movie was right up their alley.
Luckily I only paid 40 cents for the bootlegged copy of the CD.0 -
The nude wrestling scene was, IMO, the funniest 4 minutes every put into a movie. The 'Southern Gentry' segment also was hysterical. The rest was only mildly amusing, but those two were worth the price of the rental. I found the entire movie boring and base, however, until I pulled the holier-than-thou stick out of my ass. 0 -
you have to dig deep to find the humor, but i like movies like airplane, police squad 0 -
