Anyone ever deer hunt with mosin nagant?
I picked up some 180 grain soft points today. I've never been that big on hunting with military rifles but thought I would see how it grouped with hunting ammo. I only shot fmj bullets so far. I hunted with a friend several years ago that took a nice 9 pointer with his sks. Dropped it with one shot at about 125 yards. I was impressed. It was a really big deer. Those 180 grain bullets for the nagant look huge but thats all I could find.....

somebody here posted a nice elk that they took IIRC @ 200yds with a 91/30 0 -
180 grain is the only hunting round I have seen in factory ammo. I little pricey too... 0 -
I've seen them on the History Channel and Discovery Channel - been used all over Siberia and Mongolia (and China, too) for more than 100 years, with good/great results. The action is smooth/fast and the round hits hard. ... also did an 'efficient number' on countless Germans and buddies in two world wars.

That was also the main rifle used against us in Korea. 0 -
