GA woman gets 15 years probation for having 200 dead and dying cats

(Atlanta-AP) November 7, 2006 - A woman was sentenced to 15 years probation Tuesday on animal cruelty charges stemming from the discovery of nearly 200 dead and dying cats in her Alpharetta house.

Lauri Lockwood pleaded guilty to one felony count and 145 misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. She was ordered to have no contact with animals and to allow unannounced inspections of her home.

Authorities found 146 dead cats and 26 alive ones in the 47-year-old Lockwood's home in February 2005. She had volunteered to keep the animals for an organization that rescues them from shelters and tries to find them homes.

Assistant District Attorney Laura Janssen said some of the cats had been dead for six months and were found "on every single level, in every single room" of Lockwood's house.

Man, I absolutely love your yard...Looks like you dispensed with junk like lawn mowers/trimmers/edgers...the instruments that enslave/entrap men into servile degradation to a womens ideal of a 'perfect lawn'.....

    SUPER !!!!

Though of course in your case it is what you are not carrying that saves you.

True. Kind of like the bob cats around here. There are a lot
    but seldom seen.
The one in MT.,my buddy says was kind of hanging around acting almost
like it wanted to be taken in. He lives in a cabin, in the mountains
and was having a particularly harsh blizzard at the time.

I told em he oughta "make a pet of it <wink>", and he said "nah, it'd
just want to eat my horses".

There's been a few proven sighting of them in Mo., but not real common. I used to often see what I thought to be one, but it seemed
old or injured and would just kinda amble off.

hhmm... what if that thing pounced on you? anybody think they could kick its ass? I'm guessing it's as big as a medium-large dog and weighs about 90 lb.

I wouldn't want to try it, but I think I could do it.

Busch... I think you're dreaming. I tangled with an alley cat (4 legged) once, and it darn near killed me.
