Class three question....

Man has registered full auto "something".....dies

Three years later the widow has given the gun to some nephew in the family because she doesn't know has NOT done any paperwork.

If she were to get the gun back and fill out the papers on the weapon now....would the ATF give her a hard time because of the time that has passed?

If she were NEVER to fill out the proper paperwork on the gun....but the nephew were to....would they take the gun?

    Well there is many more questions that need answerd.

    Is the gun a Pre 86' transferable MG? If it is NOT, then there is NO legal way to do it.

    Now if it is a transferable MG there you can legaly do it and I will let one of the Class 3 dealers talk about it. Here is a little info on NFA transfers after a death http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#m10 .

    I am just asking questions that were put out by someone in the store. I haven't messed with any class three guns myself (other than what my father owned back a long time ago.)

    I have thought about getting a license to be able to do transfers for our area. I don't think there is a person left around here that is able to do anything class three any more.
