WHEN....do boys realize they have teeth!!!!
He has had teeth for over 10 years now.....
The girls don't have this problem....but the boy.....
Every day I have to say...."did you brush your teeth"....and he will look suprised and dart off like I just gave them to him or something. Just because he ran off doesn't MEAN he will brush them....NOOOOOOoooooo. You still have to check them.
When is this going to stop? Do your mothers call your homes every day and ask this? Is this going to be my responsibility from now on?

I suppose you make him bathe daily too huh!?!?[xx(][xx(] 0 -
Nope. Some young lady is in training right now to take over the job for you in about 10 years. OF course she'll never be able to cook like you.[:D][:D][:D][:D] 0 -
Brushing your teeth, bathing, being polite, and not following the latest fad is not manly! I have raised six children Locust and I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you but, YOU HAVEN"T SEEN ANYTHING YET!! Run woman! If you can run as fast as you can and hide! [:D] 0 -
About a year ago I told him to go get a bath. He left the room and I realized it had been a while since I had seen him.....so I went to check on him. The bathroom door was shut, but I could tell he was in there. I opened the door to see HIS REAR END right in my face!!! He was standing on the counter in the bathroom BUT-NAKED! I started yelling.....what the heck are you doing??? He said he was finished with his bath. I could tell he hadn't even BEEN IN the water. It was like an Alaskan lake...water as clean as can be.
DANG IT....get in that tub and take your bath!!! Use SOAP and don't forget to wash your hair!!!!
He is my sweetie....but I wonder if all boys live in their own little worlds like this.0 -

Standing on the counter naked at 10 years old?
I don't know if that is something I would consider normal, but what do I know,...........I got dirtier than all get out when I was a kid, but when it was time for a bath, or shower, I did as told.
Also on your other post,.......I did NOT have a choice as to how my hair was cut. It was cut according to my mothers wishes, and there was nothing I could do about it. But I was his age in 1971, so it seems it is a different world out there.
I also got my azz busted until I learned to respect "authority",......don't believe it has turned me into a psycho! Actually, I am thankful, as God knows what I may have done without that respect as I got older.
Good Luck!
Edit,.....Also never had a problem brushing my teeth, once again, had no choice! Maybe that is why I still have all of them.0 -
My three are pretty good. The oldest is just now really giving me heck.....she is 15 and thinks she is in charge of herself already. The middle child is a pure angel. Sometimes I think she is so good just to make the other two look bad. The youngest has been babied into pure mush just about. The girls have jumped in and done just about everything for him that I haven't and its starting to worry me for him. The hair is all the 15 yr old's fault....she has talked him into growing it like the older boys she knows wears it. Since he is pretty good I haven't said much about it.....but its getting cut before school starts! 0 -
And just so you know Locust,........I was raised by a single mother. My dad was a sperm donor, and nothing more. He became a drunk, and then violent. My grandfather put him in the hospital, after he hit my mom, and they made an agreement where he didn't pay child support, and gave up all rights to have visitation,.......great father huh?
I was only 3, so it had no effect on me, and fortunately at that time, I had my grandfather, and great uncles for male influence.
My mom says today, that they overdid it! But she is a tough cookie also,.......had to work 2 and 3 jobs way back then to pay the bills!0 -
My mother used to bug me all the time, too.
You should have learned that in 'girl school'
... it's just one of them 'facts of life!'
[:D]
P.S. Still got all my teeth.0 -
He will realise one day he will wake up smelling like 'linx deoderant' , & will ot be able to wash the ch17 off..& he may be cured when the first bit of fluff apears..[:D] there again he may turn into an 'angel' !![:D] & not one from heaven..[}:)] 0 -
take him to the dentist, hopefully they'll find something to drill at this point.
When they're finished tell him there will be many more visits if teeth are not brushed0 -
wait till one day your driving down the road in an enclosed environment, and you get that special smell of a week unbathed, and not wiping his azz, but in your mind you will be for certain he bathed because he spent 20 min in the shower, but unknown to you all he has been doing is sticking his head in the shower to get his hair wet
sorry to tell you, but this will be unimportant to him for the next five years, or until he really discovers girl which ever comes first
a trip or two to the dentist will cure the teeth brushing
edit: count his underwear, i will lay money a pair or two is missing, if he hasn't started it yet he will quite using toilet paper, and start loading them up, his recourse will be to hide them or throw them away, i had to make mine wash them out by hand a few times in the toilet to cure that one0 -

Should have posted that to start with![;)]0 -
My son has braces and we want him to take very good care of his teeth. I taped pictures of rotten teeth resulting from not brushing thouroghly with braces on his bathroom mirror. The orthodontist actually gave me the card with the pictures for this very reason. It works.
Tape some rotten teeth pictures on his bathroom mirror with a caption "This is from not brushing". He'll get the message.0 -
Yep boys fail to remember the teeth and ahe bath that's for sure... It's one of lifes mysteries...
Kinda like women driving around a parking lot for two hrs waitng for a space close to the door while a guy likes to park next to the shopping cart rack.... so they don't have to walk a half a mile (Both ways) to park it after they are finished shopping!!!0 -
Since when do guys get buggies....if I even touch a cart Larry's shoulders go limp and he starts with the...."why do you need that, we're only gonna be in here a minute!!!" 0 -
I have 4 ,the youngest is almost 16,,,they learn they have teeth and they have to bathe about the same time they learn girls are good for ...[;)] 0 -
I have the same problems with our boys.
The 12 year old, thankfully, will now bathe regularly, without prompting, but still needs reminders to brush is teeth.
Puberty and all the wonderful smells that accompany it are adequate reminders for him of the importance of that aspect of proper hygene in polite society.
My one that just turned 11......needs constant reminders to bathe, brush teeth, clip nails, etc., etc., etc........
I'm hoping once puberty hits, he gets the same message.
He did go though a brief period last summer when he had a crush on an "older woman" (14 year-old daughter of a friend), at which time he went out of his way to make an effort to look his best. I told my friend the influence her daughter was having on my son, and I asked her to ask her daughter to please, shoot him a smile once in a while, or just be nice to him, to see if this could keep up. Sweetheart that her daughter is, she is still doing so, but since she has a steady now, the effect has waned.
Oh well.....there is hope on the horizon.....0 -

I might be the only guy on the planet that is thankful his wife does not cook like his mother used to.
Wife knows that if I say, "This taste just like Mom used to make," that she has my permission to smack me upside my head with a frying pan.
Look. So long as he doesn't miss the toilet and pee all over the floor, he'll likely turn out okay.0 -

Sounds like your Sperm Donor and mine were buddies.
Mine was into beating the crap out of my mother every day. Mom put up with it until he came home and decided to beat me for the heck of it (I was one). Mom packed up the next day and moved from California to Florida by way of Mexico and then Pennsyvania (long story, but she was trying to get him to lose her trail). Filed for divorce and managed to swing it so he didn't have to pay child support, but he also didn't ever get to see me.
Luckily, she married a very nice man when I was three who adopted me and has never, ever treated me like I wasn't his own flesh and blood.0 -
1911....the wiping but thing has already happened. I swear. I came into the bathroom and thought some kind of animal had made a nest with toilet paper in the trash can. The toilet was clogged....of course....and in the pile of papers I see boys underwear. I made his dad have a talk with him. Who knows what will happen next?? 0
