I'm MAD! Harassment of military wife

I participate in our local FreeCycle and Free Sharing groups.

A lady posted a "wanted ad" for items to send to her husband's unit in the sandbox. She received some direct replies (not through the group) that were anti-war and vaguely threatening.

I emailed the owner of the group and asked them if they would be willing to attempt to track down and ban the culprits - no response yet. I'm guessing that if successful the closest we would get to them is the Cow College computer servers (Purdue).

    Since they are yahoo based groups, the moderators can boot the offenders, if you have the e-mail address's you might be able to track the profiles.

    I haven't seen any of the emails but it seemed to be implied that the offenders had utilized alternate email addresses.

    I don't know that I would spend too much of your time hunting these nut jobs down. Maybe spend that time getting things so that they don't get to send any e-mails to a personal account. I have two accounts myself. Only one is set up for vendors and business. Everyone nut job on the planet seems to get their hands on that address. I only open the messages I KNOW are legit.

    It wouldn't be hard to set up an address that is only devoted to that charity and that way you wouldn't have that mess coming to your "fun" address. Just ignore the nuts....they aren't worth your time and usually it ends up being a 14 yr old boy who watched too many Law and Order episodes.

    14 yr old boys are cool.....well, MOST of them....Law and Order is crapola though.
