    Wow....did I miss a big thing! Just caught the 16 guage proof mark....a 20 guage shell fit so nice when I was trying to figure it out I just thought this was what it was! Added mistake in the detail of the auction.

    I'm having a hard time grasping the utility of a double barrel shotgun with 2 different gauges.

    What hunting situation would call for such an arrangement?

    Bird hunting is the only thing that comes to mind - shoot the smaller round when a covey first flushes and the larger for the second shot?

    The sights are unusual for a shotgun. Why would one need rifle sights on a double shotgun?. I have never seen or heard of a double gun in two different guages. It must have been custom made for some rich excentric hunter. Very unusual!

    This one is something else to see. I have no idea about the sites myself....but maybe for shooting a slug. Bunny-whacker!

    Does anyone know what the four animals are on the gun? I KNOW what three are...but the last one is a guess.

    I wish....that one I would keep. Could you imagine the PETA people if there were an "extinct critter" engraved gun!!!! That would be awesome!

    Speaking of Unicorns....a long, long time ago I had an album (music type 12 inch album) that had the SADDEST unicorn of all time on the cover....there this big-eyed unicorn stood on the little mound of dirt and water all around. He had HUGE, crying eyes and Noah's ark drifting away in the background. The song about the unicorn had him prancing around while there was all of this work to be done.....you can guess where that song went. But it was the saddest picture EVER to have on a children's LP.

    Maybe THAT is what is wrong with me.....the unicorn record along with some of the other devastating decor I can remember. I won't even tell you guys about the Puppy in the pound picture.
