steyr pro hunter bolt question
I tried to clean my bore today and the place where the lugs lock in.
After I cleaned the rifle the bolt would not go completely into the reciever. I found that there is a ring that moves around where the lugs go. I moved the ring back into position and the rifle funtions properly now. The question I have is why does this happen and if it happened in the field how would i correct the problem without tools.

One of the guys decided to take the bolt apart in one of the Steyr SBS one day at the store. It was funny....I left the room and came back to see there were three guys trying to fit the puzzle together. I left the room again when I came back they had A SECOND bolt apart and were having a hard time getting them together. It was funny to see them fretting over the bits and peices.
I know if I had taken them apart they would still be all over the place.0
