    Doesn't look to me like it made it very well. I don't care how well they wrapped it, something like that, which was prone to rust anyway, didn't make it for 50 years sitting in that kind of water! Breaks my heart! I love those old Plymouths!

    The '57 Plymouth they buried is pretty much toast. The concrete capsule filled with water and there isn't much left of the car. It's really sad to see it like that. It would have faired better if they'd parked it under a tree and let the squirrels nest in it.[V]Dave

    You'd think they would have tried to make the capsule more waterproof. They should have made the capsule above ground.

    I graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1957; I remember the burial well. It was part of the celebration of Oklahomas 50th year of being a state of the union. This is the 100th anniversity. I wonder if they will bury another car to be dug up in 50 years.

    They should bury an American car.Maybe one from each maker. It will be quite a novelty item in 50 years as there won`t be any cars made here by then.

    They wasted a fun opportunity by letting it flood? OMG, how stupid! They didn't even need to bury it! Just park it in a barn up on blocks, fog the engine when you shut it down, spray a light oil on the engine, throw a tarp over it and call it a day....or 50 years. No difference!

    It's interesting to comment on how stupid people were fifty years ago for burring a new car, but in 1998 they buried a Plymouth Prowler prototype, buried at Tulsa's centennial park.

    The vault they used in 57 was supposed to be water proof. Concrete with asphalt sealing the whole thing Well it looks like somebody skimped on the project a little. The Prowler they put in Centennial Park is above ground in a plastic box with inert gas pumped in. This is inside a concrete vault. There is also 4 X 50.oo bills so I know where you can get 200.00 bucks if you got a sledge hammer[:D][}:)][;)]

    The old Plymouth is currently on display at a Tulsa car dealership (East Tulsa Dodge).
    I heard on the news there is talk of burying yet another car.
