    Or messager boys. I just wish the poop would work, I pay for a service why it won't work. I flush my toilet works every time, huh?? If your other stuff would work like you computers and ISP?? Lets think about it, Toaster, fridge, TV, toilet, stuff works. Man goes to moon (or does he) and they can not make this stuff to work.

    It started acticg up last week, slowing down, today I called they said they has area wide problems.

    95% of the time the trouble is customer owned. Whether it be the wiring, modem or the most likely cause the computer. But most people will blame the ISP 95% of the time.

    NSA Surveillance Comes Under Fire Today in Appeals Court Battle

    San Francisco - In a packed San Francisco courtroom today, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) urged the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to allow AT&T customers to continue to fight against illegal spying on their telephone and Internet communications.

    EFF is representing the plaintiffs in Hepting v. AT&T, a class-action lawsuit brought by AT&T customers accusing the giant telco of violating their rights by illegally assisting the National Security Agency in domestic surveillance. The U.S. government is fighting to get the class-action lawsuit thrown out of court, contending that the litigation jeopardizes state secrets.

    Reports Said to Confirm Lawsuit Linking AT&T to 'Data Mining'

    It's not just phone calls, it's e-mail, too, according to a lawsuit that accuses AT&T of turning over vast amounts of domestic phone and Internet traffic to the National Security Agency.

    The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a public-interest ``digital rights'' group with headquarters in San Francisco, said Thursday's report in USA Today on an alleged massive telephone-monitoring program appears to confirm allegations made in its lawsuit against AT&T. That class-action lawsuit, filed Jan. 31 in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, alleges that the phone company lets the NSA scoop up voluminous phone and e-mail traffic at AT&T telecommunications centers.

    AT&T said in a statement that it has ``a long history of vigorously protecting customer privacy,'' but also has ``an obligation to assist law enforcement and other government agencies responsible for protecting the public welfare, whether it be an individual or the security interests of the entire nation.''

    ``We prize the trust our customers place in us,'' the statement said. ``If and when AT&T is asked to help, we do so strictly within the law and under the most stringent conditions. Beyond that, we don't comment on matters of national security.''

    Thursday's disclosure that the NSA had collected call logs from AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth caused a furor in Washington. Foundation representative Rebecca Jeske said the newspaper report ``confirms a lot of what we alleged in our lawsuit.''

    At my house 100% of time the problem is AT&T. Funny they came to my house and inspected all the wiring, my pc, the modem etc. What did they find out, they suck, it was their problem too long of a run, etc. Again it will be their fault

    I am on the tail end of getting rid of Bellsouth and AT&T here at the house. The store has Road Runner service and when the kids get the cell phones this Christmas....bye bye crappy idots of Bellsouth and AT&T!!!

    Now that they are TRYING to get the Bellsouth mess all merged in with their systems it seems they are impossible to log onto. I haven't been able to check my e-mail since this afternoon. When I moved they messed up my service so bad it was rediculous. They turned off my service a full week before they were supposed to....promised me things I couldn't have....then took over SEVEN hours of phone time to get straightened out to the mid-level sub-par service I have out of them.

    I now have a Verizon wireless modem on my laptop and couldn't be happier. Larry isn't big on the whole idea of not having a "land line" at all.....so we may just get it turned into a basic line with absolutely no bells or whistles at all. I've even heard of people having an "emergency only" line where it isn't even used at all.

    I dislike AT&T and Bellsouth a great deal with all the mess I have put up with.
