To be quite frank, you pose the right question, only in the wrong forum. People here don't seem to care for the BOR's OR the Constitution , most times. [:0]

It's not like it used to be... us citizens back in the day had a lot of heart and strong beliefs, now I'm going back to the Civil War error. I'm sure there are still some out there. Civilians would have to use guerilla tactics against the military, that would be the only chance they would have in my opinion. not every cilvilian would rise up against the government. Maybe a third or quarter if your lucky of the civilian population would make a stand.

I don't know if "We The People" would stand a chance or not, but I often wonder the same thing.

I think what really screws us is that all our family and kin are in the millitary.
Dont get me wrong, im not talking poop.
Most my family is in the military too.
The problem is I feel as a nation we are powerless against our own goverment. and if push comes to shove where will our sons and daughters stand, with the people they are sworn to protect, or with the goverment theve sworne to uphold?

As a nation we need to get our poop together!
    and prioritize!

    Priority #1 America!
    Priority #2 America!
    Priority #3 America!

Come right down to it..what difference would it make ?

Unless one is a member of the "Better Red then Dead" crowd..resisting tyranny is its' OWN reward..even if you fail, you go to met your maker knowing that you did not crawl on your knees to service your master....

quote:What I am asking, is if it was necessary for the citizens to rise up against the government, would or could they win

No I dont think they could or would win....My reasons for thinking such is because the citizens have allowed the gov't to become too strong...
Citizens no longer have their own opionion..they are so more than willing to let someone control their lives, as long as they receive something in the end...Its become a country of me, me, me and what can you give me...Ppl have gotten too lazy to care anymore, just as long as they are taken care of, provided an income, they will do what is asked...or rather told to do..

It has become a country of the rich (govt) and the poor (citizens).

The poor will never win over the rich, cause the rich control it all..from money to food, and without the basic necessities for survival there is no way to win against them....so they keep the citizens poor and controlled..

I agree. Illegal immigration is a perfect example. The American people want it stopped. These people are leeching off social programs that WE the taxpayer pay for.
But it hasn't and won't be stopped. Bacause BIG BUSINESS wants them. Low wage workers who don't qualify for workmans comp etc.
Also, if you think the military won't fire on civilians, just remember that they DID fire on a demonstration of WW-1 vets, demanding the benefits they were promised and entitled to. Soldiers firing on vets. How much easier was it for them at Kent State?
Asassinations would IMO be the better route. Take out the offending Govt & industry bigwigs one by one.
But these would certainly be suicide missions that would require individuals willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
But the Headline making trails would certainly put the issues and the American peoples dissatisfaction front and center. And hopefully unite the nation one way or the other. You'll either be a hero or a loon.
