UPS RANT
My UPS rant for the day
I had a package delivered Friday ( oh boy ) sad news it was mine but not delivered to my house..[:(]
called UPS today ,,
after explaining what my issue was...
UPS..your normal driver is on vacation the driver who delivered it is off this week . maybe why it happened ?
Me --, so what is that to me I do not have my package
UPS-- well looks like the dropped it a neighbors house
Me-- and why would they do that
UPS-- mistake on the drivers part
ME --I want my package at my house not the neighbors
UPS-- well cant you go to the neighbors and get it
Me --NO I did not miss deliver it you did
UPS-- well it may take a day or two do you have the neighbors phone number
Me --I told you I do not even know the neighbor or really like them so no I do not have a phone number
Ups-- well you sure you can not contact the neighbor and get it
Me --NO your mistake
UPS-- well we will leave a note for the driver to see if he can recover it and get to the correct place
Me --well thank you for your time and have a nice day

Sold a box of Winchester Black Talon ammo to a fellow in Tennessee figured this shouldn't cost more than about $8.00 to ship. 1.3 oz. box from S.E. WI. to some where in Tennessee. Box was 6x6x6 inches, not very big. Took it today to UPS and it cost $13.99 to ship. There is no surcharge because it was ORM-D. There was a $2.75 surcharge because the buyer lived in some remote part of Tennessee. Had I been able to ship this via the Postal Service it would have cost about $5.50. Is it me or am I out of touch with UPS shipping??? Does any one actually use UPS to ship a less than 2lb box for $10.00. I know there rates get more expensive the further you ship but that's highway robbery. 0 -
UPS=Unquestionably Pisspoor Service
I ordered something from the interwebs, FREE shipping, gave the address I've used for over 38 years, and get an email with the tracking number included.
I check once or twice to see if it left the loading dock, and again on the morning of the announced delivery.
I see that my address is noted as "incorrect", and that UPS is working to resolve the "problem".
A day later, I get an email telling me that there's nothing that anyone can do to change the situation until the package is delivered to the wrong house.
The address they show is the exact address I've been using, down to the extension of the zip code.
I think to myself, "I've been getting LOADS of packages over the years, maybe this is a one-time oopsie".
Another email arrives, telling me that they're working on it, and the driver reported the address number is wrong.
It's the SAME address I gave the shipper, and verified by the UPS email.
It's been 3 days now, past the appointed day of delivery, and all I get are polls from UPS, asking how they're doing. Five so far.
I'm tempted to start a business dedicated solely to serving the customers that have been forced to use UPS ground to move ammunition around the country, due to nebulous and misunderstood postal regulations concerning "ORMD" packages.
It would be cheaper and much less aggravating to drive myself to Ft. Smith and pick up the merchandise personally, than to put up with the ignorant, lazy, illiterate DACA beneficiaries UPS hires as "cover" drivers in nM.
Grrrrr!
Rant over, and thank you.0 -
UPS, from whom I generally receive good service, really pizzed me off Thursday. Tracking indicated I had 3 packages coming, one of which required a signature. This was stuff to finish an AR build, so I wanted to be sure to get it.
UPS generally comes anywhere between 2-5 PM, so I stayed home. As the afternoon progressed I began periodically looking out at the street (yes, I get hyper this way). At about 5, I looked again and there on my front porch were 2 of the packages and a "missed delivery" slip. There was no doorbell rung, no knock at the door, no nothing. I was soo pizzed.
I called UPS to complain and was told someone from the local center would call me. They did, but would not even acknowledge the possibility that no attempt was made at my door. Finally they said the driver makes a scheduled stop at the local UPS store (about 5 miles away) and I could meet him there if I wanted...I did, and barely had time to get there.
Driver had a "cat who ate the Massengill ( we cannot say c a n a r y here?" look on his face but pretended nothing was wrong. I asked why there was no doorbell rung or a knock on the door and he quietly said "I did." I said "you are a liar and we both know it." He said nothing more. Geez!

I was expecting a packaging that didn't show. Called the shipping company and they said that according to the tracking # it had been left at the door last week. I stated that if it had been left at my door I wouldn't be calling them. Ten minutes on hold at ups and they say that the shipping company needs to call them and put a tracer on it. I say that the shipping company told me to call them. Long story short, I was on the phone to both companies for over 30 minutes. Most of it either on hold or trying to talk to a machine. The tracer was put on the package, and I still can't listen to my Ipod in my truck and boat. Wish me luck. 0 -
Good luck but UPS (and USPS) Insurance only covers the shipper and not the (intended) recipient. 0 -
I was working somewhere that shipped a lot of stuff in and out via ups. one item, I was talking to the ups guy trying to get something delivered, and he was having problems understanding the address. the guy had an attitude, and he had problems with me. it got sent to the wrong place; it got straightened out and sent to our place; it actually had some smartass comment written on the box from, apparently, that first guy I talked to. something like "misdirected due to ignorant clerk giving the address".
so I called UPS to file a complaint about what happened at work on my own behalf; don't call me there at work. ok, call us back.
I called back, they didn't know anything about it. so I started over. and don't call me there at work. ok, call us back.
same thing. start over. add to that, the chick on the phone was snotty. don't call me at work. ok, call us back.
same thing. start over, and add a complaint about snotty chick. and don't call me there at work. ok, call us back.
so they called me at work. $#%$@%$@!!! I'll call you back, don't call me here at work! ok, call us back.
so they called me at work again. I took the phone call and set up a conference call later on, to be called from home.
when I did that, the first thing I addressed was their complete lack of handling phone calls. the fatlady on the other end wouldn't apologize for any of it, including the snotty chick I talked to.
then before they got started with the main issue, they refused to go any further before they "do a profile" on me, where they got my name, address, phone number, what I do for a living, blah blah blah. so I had to do that. the only reason I can think of for them to do that, was for their own security in case I go postal or something so they know who did it. cuz as it turns out they didn't give a rat's ass about any of my problems I had with them.
she made me repeat something like 5 times "this is ONLY between ME and ups, the employer has nothing to do with it" (faking ignorance/deafness to trick me into saying it several times to cover her fat ass for whatever reason)
we finally got to talking about the comment written on the box. the whole time she came up with excuse after excuse about how it might be about somebody else, they wouldn't do something like that, it might have been an old box, yak yak yak for 45 minutes! she refused to address the complaint. I finally asked her what the hell I'm even talking to her for. no answer, she kept on with it. I just hung up.
and that was talking to some head chick at the main office.
I do a lot of shipping. I refuse to use ups at all. I know they've lost at least $1,000 worth of business from me in the several years since that happened. they will never get my business again. if I'm at another company and I'm in charge of the shipping, I'd switch to anybody else in a second. they paid for the treatment they gave me, they're continuing to pay for it, and I hope to sock it to 'em good someday.
the driver might be a nice guy, the people at the customer counter might be nice people, but hey, the people that run that place can kiss my ass.
I suggest you use somebody else as well. they suck.0 -
When I have the choice, I also refuse to use their (non)-service. 0 -
Today's youth cops an attitude all to often today I don't put up with it.
I take my business down the street, to be greeted (SIC) by yet another crappy attitude from today's youth.
UPS just reflects this trend.0 -

I havent had any problems with UPS (not yet)
well once i was geting two packages, and one missed the truck, came a day late thats all0 -
The package showed up last night. The UPS guy had dropped it off at a vacant house on the north end of the road instead of the south. Luckily it was still there. 0 -
Very similiar scenereo happened to my wife recently. A package of needed supplies for her business long overdue. Shipper gives her tracking, but UPS won't give her the info. Finally tracked it down and the package had been delivered to the local UPS hub over a week earlier. Then dissappeared never to be seen again.
Last nite at work a co-worker was complainig of what sounds like another similiar situation. UPS is really getting BAD!0
