Where have we gone wrong
Putting down Christmas seems to be a big thing in late years. Specially from the new breed of people that seem to be well brainwashed. Not too many years ago, 60 plus, Christmas, even at wartime was a big thing.
C&P from WND: " Indeed, trees and their decoration have played a role in American history, even in the nation's darkest hours. In 1942, just a year after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill came to Washington to join President Franklin Roosevelt in lighting the National Christmas Tree, a tradition started by Calvin Coolidge in 1923.
"Against enemies who preach the principles of hate and practice them, we set our faith in human love and in God's care for us all men everywhere," said Roosevelt.
Thousands of citizens turned out for the event, which was broadcast nationwide on radio in the grips of World War II. " How true, this was once a God fearing country. Now that things seem so easy and great we dont need any devine help. "The Govt. will take care of you"
is the motto lately. "God is not allowed in schools, work places,
congress, or anywhere lately." We sure sunk to a new low thanks to a small minority of anti God people and stupid elected officials who listened to the minority of voters. Hopefully Christmas will remain
in our hearts and displays as in prior years.

I have faith that there will come a time when we will see that the people who are doing this to our country will be taken to task.
I hope it is soon.

We have no one to blame but ourselves.
Our fellow Americans are either too stupid or too lazy to vote.
... what a surprise ... as our country swirls away!0 -
Who says it's being put down? Hell, people start decorating before Thanksgiving now. 0 -
Artical 1 of the constitution say that: conress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; now to me that doesn't say that religious things are banned, it actually says that we are free to practice and express openly our religious ideas. We are after all a country under God. we are free to exercise in public our religious beliefs. Isay bring Back the ten commandment, the nativity scenes, christmas parades. 0 -

Who thinks they're gone? Chick-fil-let (sp?) hires only Christians, my neighbor has a nativity scene in her front yard as do many area churches. Bay Minette had a Christmas parade this weekend. Any Christian school can put whatever they want on display as people can put in their yard whatever they want. Any business can post Ten Commandments on every wall. What is the real complaint?0 -
This is the time of year that the most money is made my retailers. I think the young generation has grown tired of Christmas being commercialized. The young Christians tell me time is better spent spreading the Gospel, and getting the elderly and poor ready for winter. Thats the best excuse i've heard for not putting up a Christmas tree. 0 -
Christmas is not about consumerism....
IF everyone quit shopping for Christmas.....youd see those Anti-religion people AND the Federal Govt SCREAMING the Christmas melodies down everyone's throat.
Capitalist/Corporate America can't exist without Christmas. They know it and we know it.
Just quit shopping for Chinese junk and you'll see what I mean.
This is the 3rd year in a row we haven't bought 1 Chinese made product for Christmas. Ain't nobody else in America that can say that....nobody.0 -

That seems odd since you live in Taiwan. Aren't you surrounded by Chinese junk living in a "renegade province"?0 -

Yes, aren't they all.
What has really destroyed Christmas, even for us atheists, is the commercialism, not the Happy Holidays folk. Merry Christmas to all!0 -

Joeaf1911a1: ever read or hear the prayer FDR led the nation with upon announcing the D-Day invasion? Awesome. Those were different times. 0 -
River Rat: Cant say that I have heard it. Back then I was in the Army
and quite busy at that time. Will have to check it out though. Quite true, things were different back in my time.0 -

"Behold the revelation of God to mankind in the form of our child savior Jesus."
Now, this is how I remember Christmas.

You know full well what the complaint is; a bunch of folks would really love to turn this country into a Christain version of Iran but just can't figure out a way to manage it...yet!0 -
