NYS Trooper Shooter Burned OUT
Travis Trim, a 23 year old college student shot 3 NY State Troopers and killed one of them. He is held up in a house right now and the Police decided to burn him out. It is taking place right now in Margaretsville, NY
MARGARETVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -- State police have released the name of the trooper who was shot and killed today by a man suspected of shooting two other troopers. He's 29-year-old David Brinkerhoff. State police Acting Superintendent Preston Felton says Brinkerhoff was a member of the elite Mobile Response Team and was assigned to the barracks in Coxsackie, 20 miles south of Albany.
Felton says Brinkerhoff and Trooper Richard Mattson were shot while searching a property near Margaretville in eastern Delaware County for Travis Trim of Saint Lawrence County. Mattson was transported to an Albany hospital. There's no word on his condition.
The 23-year-old Trim is the suspect in the shooting of a trooper yesterday in Margaretville. That trooper was saved by his bulletproof vest.
Meanwhile, dozens of law enforcement officers continue to surround a farmhouse outside Margaretville where Trim exchanged gunfire with police about an hour after the troopers were shot.
Brinkerhoff was an eight-year veteran of the state police. He's survived by his wife and their seven-month-old daughter.

You guys think its funny but this lunatic shot and killed a New York State Trooper and wounded 2 other troopers. If he shoots cops, he would kill anyone including your wife and kids. In my opinion he was a rabid animal and I am glad he was put down. 0 -

Sometimes fighting fire with fire - if you get my meaning -
is a pretty good way to get things done.

If he claims he was fighting a tyrranical government, does that make him the good guy?
Oh wait, I forgot, the government's not tyrranical unless a Dem's in the White House. It's "executive prvilege' right now.0 -
Shot while looking for Trim according to the article. That has happened a bunch I suppose.

What if the Cops were crooked and giving him the "Shakedown", and it was self defense? I doubt it, but I'd not celebrate any Lynchings... 0 -
Some of these days...5 years, ten...good decent Ameicans will be burned to death in their homes as Tyranny gains ever more traction in America.
You will hear the cheering from the sidelines as ever more flames are seen on National TV...
Ignorant of reality, blind trust and belief takes the place of thoughful watchfulness of those in authority...and the presidence is set in stone, today....Burn 'em to death.0 -
hehe
He shoulda R-U-N-N-O-F-T !!!
(anyone know the movie?)[:D][:D]0 -
Wow it is amazing how ignorant alot of you are! This happened in the county I reside in. My wife works for the New York State Police. We know many of the peolpe who were\are at the scene. Some are like family. They are out there risking their lives. One gave his life. You who made the stupid insensitive comments should all be ashamed of yourselves. nyforester started out with the statement"...and the Police decided to burn him out..." Which is not the truth at all. And the rest of the sheep got in line and followed. It is no wonder that our country is in the shape it is in. Some punk kills a cop and suddenly the troopers are trying to shake him down. Get the facts before you start running your mouths about tyranny and lynchings. 0 -
Does anyone for a second think this guy would have made it out alive anyway?
Branch Davidianed. Period. Hike those boots a little higher guys.0 -
Well said Sage ..... 0 -

Why do we have a double standard?0 -
Ignorant ?
Perhaps. We live in a time where even a cursory examination will reveal that those in authority lie when the truth would serve better.
You boys have bought and paid for the distrust you hold among the citizens of this country.
The news said this morning that 'The Troopers fired into the building..and the fires started immediately.'
Many if not most of the law enforcement have been lying about Waco since it happened...only a few willing to step up and admit what happened.
Keep on keeping on covering up for fellow officers.0 -

In my humble opinion I would be in favor of the police shooting the bum to save us the cost of a trial and feeding that scumbag for the rest of his life.[:0][:0][:0]
I think the majority of folks on this forum and any other forum respect what the police do for us and have a small measure of understanding as to the danger in their daily jobs. That said, most of would gladly stand shoulder to shoulder with the police to take out that rabid killer.0 -
If he would have me...I would 'stand shoulder to shoulder with' Nunn...and a few more.
I will issue no such blanket guarantee for ANY of the younger generation of officers...0 -

Marshall Law was conducted for a short time in that town centering around that farm house. They had the shooter surrounded, sharp shooters with scopes, heavy artillery, armored cars..........He was over matched and over gunned. All it took was one person to give the order to send in the gas or what ever it was that ignited into a fire. They knew it would burn. They just wanted him to come out shooting so they could unload ! I am not sticking up for this guy and we will never know the "REAL" story why he blew a fuse. Some say it was drug related. Guilty until proven innocent reins supreme today and it is a shame because it will only get worse.0 -
UPDATE
State Police: Friendly Fire Killed Trooper Brinkerhoff
April 27, 2007 - 4:22PM
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)
Friendly fire killed a New York State trooper as he searched a farmhouse Wednesday for a suspect in the shooting of another trooper the day before.
That's according to officials this afternoon.
Trooper David C. Brinkerhoff was a member of the force's elite mobile response team, or M-R-T. He was shot as he and another trooper went into a farmhouse that was destroyed later in the day by flames during a police assault.
Acting State Police Superintendent Preston Felton says the fatal wound was made by a -point-2-2-3 tactical round that was believed to have been fired by an M-R-T member.
The suspect in the case -- 23-year-old Travis Trim-- was found dead with a rifle in the burned shell of the home.
Shot along with Brinkerhoff was Trooper Richard Mattson, who was wounded in the left arm and survived.0 -
Well, I know one guy whose name won't be on the promotion list.[:0][:(] 0
