Will Dale Jr. stay?
The buzz right now is he is pulling the cars that he owns (Busch cars) from D.E.I. and may be going to RCR Raceing and takeing Budwieser with him. All this over a fued with his stepmother.
I say if it does happen D.E.I. is going to have some financial problems keeping cars with sponcership.

I didn't say it was. But on the same token high dollar sponcers want big names, and in NASCAR right now there is no name bigger than Dale Jr.
Also right now DEI's largest money sponcer is Budweiser. And if they go with Jr. that is a chunk of money that DEI is going to have to replace from somewhere.
I in no way think it will break DEI but it will definatly hurt them.0 -
I should also add that I believe Jr. could take Bass Pro with him as well. It is Jr.'s Busch car that they sponcer full time with minor sponcership of the cup cars.
The list could go on too.
Yes DEI would find others to replace them. But I don't think it would be for near the money they are currently getting.0 -
If DEI does not get it worked out look for JR. to go to RCR and drive the Budweiser/GM Goodwrench # 3 just think of the marketing on that car 0 -

I don't know that it would be the #3. Jr. was one that was wanting the #3 retired and it never officialy was.
If he still is for the retirement of the number he may not want to drive that number.
But I would be all for him haveing it as would most any other fan.0 -
From what I have been reading, I believe that JR will be with DEI next year. However, I don't think Bud will be. Budwieser has made a lot of money off of him, maybe to the point where they could start to see some declines. 0 -

Alot of those sponcers are in line to get on with the name Dale Jr. So a good portion on those would line up at RCR if it does happen.
DEI will still get sponcers. All I was getting at is without the Dale Jr. name those sponcers are not going to pay as well as they would have with the name.
I would also think that DEI would set asside the number 8 as it was Ralph's number and the only reason it was being used is that it was Jr's grandfathers number. Not to say they would retire it, but they might set it asside for a time. I think DEI ownes a total of 6 numbers that they can currently use (although I don't remember what all of them are).0 -

they better get it figured out soon! budweiser's making a commercial with D.E. jr. in his racing car vs. a bunch of mutants, ala Mad Max, for the superbowl. plus, if they're done shooting already, how are they going to change anything about the car. or do they have to. 0 -

Good example is the NAPA commercials.
If you look at alot of the Napa comercials Waltrop is still showing a chevy emblem on his uniform even though he has not been in a chevy for over a year. I think they did shoot 1 Napa comecial with a Dodge.0 -

The best thing that could happen to stock car racing would be if Dale Jr's plane were to go down in the middle of the Atlantic.
Jr. is nowhere near the driver his daddy was, and Sr. was a poor driver. I can't stand, or respect, the "If you can't pass-em, wreck-em" driving style.0 -
Like his step-mom said...he needs to decide what he wants to be: A driver or a celebrity. Let me ask all you Dale Jr. fans one question: Just what in the heck has he won? I don't rememeber any championships, and THAT is all that matters.

So you feel that a step-parent should be able to with hold from a natural parents kids?
To me that is wrong in any sence of what is right. I feel a child has a right to a portion of what was there parents.
Teresa would not have a thing if it was not for Dale Sr. Yes she did help market the name, and yes she does deserve a large portion of what was built. But the kids deserve a part too. And after all they are his living blood.
I say Teresa should get 50% and the remaining 50% should be divided up between Sr's kids still leaving Teresa controlling interest in the company. That in my eye's would be a fair divission of things.0 -
This kind of thing happens all the time when a spouse dies. Look at the Chicago Bears. Someone can correct me, but I think this is basically how it went down. George Halas dies. Just about everything went to the second wife. Her daughter Virginia McCaskey got it all. The Halas childen were left out in the cold.
Yes, the Halas children got some none voting worthless shares in the company that doesn't payout. That was it. They got bones.
Jr, brother and sister are in the same position. If Jr. can leverage out a deal I say go for it. RCR is being used for bargaining. Childress probably isn't worried. The stepmonster will have to give in. She has nothing without the #1 driver.0 -
