wedding band
Been married for fourty two yrs and have had a wedding band on for most of that time, welding and working on autos etc would take it off. This morning I got out of bed and noticed it was missing right away. For the life of me cant understand how I could lose it, it was tight and had wore a grove in my ring finger? Mrs isnt to understanding at this point.[:0]

I have always wondered if one could be tatooed on and then you wouldn't have to worry about taking it off for work. 0 -

I lost mine a few yrs ago during an arrest, I noticed it missing later on that evening. I went back to the store parking lot and could not find it. I ask the attendants if anyone had turned one in? The answer was no, so I went and bought another one, it didnt feel the same for a while but it does now. I know how you feel!

We were married in "83". Our rings were silver(metal of God). Because of work my ring would get oval and would crack. Years of constant repair. On our anniversery two years ago my wife gave us new white gold rings. Do you think she was sending me a message? 0 -

Yeah. She's in it for the long haul.
I have 2 rings. One white gold, the other titanium. I wear the titanium one most of the time (work, etc), just get the gold one out on Sundays or if we're going somewhere in the evening.0 -

Can't help you, but I'll tell you a story. I was married 18 1/2 years to an extremely difficult woman. Had my ring on all the time. In fact, I have big knuckles so it can't come off no matter what. When working in shops, etc. I would cover it with a wrap of duct tape. When we divorced, I went to a jewelry store and had them cut it off. The lady who owned the store enjoyed the occasion so much she didn't charge me. Now I've been happily married to the perfect partner for 15 years, and this sucker isn't coming off for nobody (no, I didn't marry the jewelry store owner).
Hint: check where you were welding last. Also, check the bedsheets. Maybe you were DREAMING you were welding. If you were dreaming about getting ready to go into a singles bar, tell the Mrs. you dreamt you were welding.

After 30 years lost wedding ring is found

Early in September, Stephen Coughlin, 8, was outside enjoying a warm fall day, working on building a clubhouse in his backyard with his three brothers and father, Dan, when he made a unique discovery.
The Coon Rapids boy found a wedding ring that had been missing for 30 years.
"It was a thick band and it looked nice. You could tell it was a wedding ring, and if I lost mine I would (appreciate) it being returned," said Anne Coughlin, Stephen's mom.
Dan and Anne Coughlin decided the right thing to do would be to call the previous owners of the home to see if they knew about the ring.
When Wanda Kasper received the phone call inquiring about the ring, she was very shocked and really happy.
She told the Coughlins that she had lost her wedding ring 30 years ago while gardening in the backyard.
"I was very pleased to have it back. And it was very nice that they bothered to call me and return my ring," said Kasper.
The spot where the Coughlin boys were building their fort was the same spot where Kasper had been gardening over 30 years ago.
"I lost that ring in 1970 while I was gardening," she said.
Since she lost her ring, Kasper had been wearing her husband's ring, which was identical to the one she had lost.
"I'm now wearing the ring that was lost because it's in better condition," she said.
Kasper invited the Coughlin family to her home to thank the boys for finding her ring. During the visit she gave the boys $20 and treated them to a can of pop.
"It felt pretty good to return the ring," said Stephen.
After living in their Coon Rapids home for 12 years, Dan and Anne Coughlin decided their four boys could make the playhouse in the backyard bigger and turn it into a clubhouse, which was previously used by their two daughters.
They decided the boys could add on another level and create a three-level clubhouse.
Stephen, his brothers Joseph, 4, Daniel, 11, Michael, 8, and their father were digging in the ground to make the first level of the clubhouse taller.
They had been digging for an hour before the discovery was made. Stephen had just put a shovel full of dirt into the wheelbarrow when he saw a shiny object.
"I didn't think at first it was a ring. I thought it was a key chain," Stephen said.
After inspecting the shiny object, he realized it was a ring.
"I saw the gold ring and then showed it to my father," Stephen said.
Stephen washed off the ring and showed it to his entire family. "Mom suggested that we call the previous owner," he said.
All four boys thought the whole incident was pretty cool and felt good that they returned the ring.
"It felt pretty good. We have never found a ring before," the brothers said.0 -

Well, my friend you have gotten yourself into a tough spot. I have been married twice, and I have been divorced twice! The only thing I can say with absolute certainty is, I won't be divorced a third time!
I never wore a wedding ring! My reasons were that they are a danger around machinery, and I have always thought that "jewelry" was unbecoming on a man. With the exception of a watch, and cuff links and tie bar for formal attire.
No easy fix for your predicament. You would have been better off not to have worn one in the first place, but thats water past the rudder. Your only coarse now is to stand up, chest out, explain loud and clear, you lost it somehow, you regret that you lost it, wish you hadn't lost it, offer to buy a new set.
At the conclusion of this. Explain to her that is all you can do, and that is all any man can do. If she can't understand that, can't accept it, or won't except it ... then .... well .... now you know why I won't be a divorced a third time.

Thanks, it has been a long and serching kind of day.I thought I might have lost it last night shoveling snow without gloves, figured I could look today at daylight, no luck four inches of snow and a couple more inches by the time I got home today.Fired up the snow blower and pictured the gold ring just flying into a pile of snow to rest till spring.
Got real lucky tonight, wife ripped the bed down and found the ring.
