Christmas Tree or Patriot Tree
Okay folks, which is it, a Christmas Tree or a Patriot Tree? According to the Army & Air Force Exchange System (AAFES), aka the BX or PX the Christmas Tree by AAFES standards is called the Patriot tree in our military communities around the world.
Those of you who have visited an AAFES store have probably seen the traditional colors associated with the holidays. Have you seen anything that mentions to Celebrate Christmas? I did not. Have you seen anything that says to Celebrate Kwanza? I did. Your thoughts please.

I was in the PX at Bliss this afternoon. Didn't notice that but they did have a photo with Santa area set up. I'm not a big holiday guy so I guess that stuff doesn't jump out at me. 0 -
Incorrect victor. Our Chaplain and Priest uses God or Jesus in their prayers, invocations and benedictions all the time.
Havent seen our AAFES here refer to them as Patriot Trees...they are called Christmas Trees. Last year we had a couple of Warrior Trees in the AAFES lobby. It had the names of all our deployed personnel on ornaments so that people could pull an ornament and send them a card/gift at Christmas.0 -

It's accurate alright. I spoke with the store manager about this to some extent, and he said they had some complaints, but that they (AAFES) controls the decoration end of things for their stores. I asked him if he would pass my displeasure along to the appropriate parties and he said he would. I believe the fellow will do just that.
As a matter of fact, while I was waiting to see the store manager about this an elderly couple came into the exchange and made a similar type of negative comment as they passed me.
I see this AAFES program designed to pit American citizens against their military families whom they love so dearly, while using the the patriots as pawns, for secular aims of changing the Christmas Season to that of a multicultural one. I see this as not only un-American, but outrageous.0 -

Medic. Having a Christmas Tree appropriately identified for the children of military families throughout the world and decorated with the names of deployed service members is one thing, but to refer to the Tree as anything but a Christmas Tree is playing right into the hands of those who are doing everything in their power to change our way of life, IMO.0 -

I'll take the loud, leave out the rude/belittle and insult, but substitute "get confrontational" and "be brutally direct" and plug that in to your thought with a hearty Amen!
Absolute non-tolerance in EVERY case is what is needed IMO. Far too many just shrug it off, quietly bitch or grumble and/or simply ignore it. This is a huge mistake that plays direct into the continuation of this crap.0 -

calling it something besides a christmas tree is dumb... it's for christmas, not kwanzaa or hanukka or whatever.
calling it a "patriot tree" stupider yet, because christmas doesn't have anything to do with patriotism, and there aren't any holidays that time of the year celebrating patriotism anyways!
they're just getting ready to roll it all into one big holiday. you'll get a red, white and blue tree with easter eggs and turkey thighs on it. put presents under it, go out in the yard and sing african songs wearing a yamuka and shooting off fireworks.
