Comes from not eating in the shop. [:p] See your dentist- you may have an abcess. If so, you will need anti-biotics. Sooner, better.

Locust Fork, try applying a very hot wet compress over the sinus area and keep it applied for 15 to 20 minutes. NO DRY HEAT.

Within a few minutes, you may actually hear (feel inside your head) the sinus cavity gradually open and air squeak in. I suffer from it from time to time and this treatment has worked wonders for me over the years. Very painful. You have my sympathy.

Are you stressed? Are you grinding your teeth in your sleep? That sure makes mine hurt. A few moments of relaxation and telling myself "I will not grind my teeth tonight" (as hokey as it sounds) usually does the trick.

    Otherwise, see your dentist ASAP.

I don't disagree with anyone else with their ideas, but you could have an ear infection, too.

Like some have said, wet hot compresses and see you Doctor ASAP.

hhmm... from a miscellaneous hiking book I have laying around:

"a cracked or broken tooth, a cavity, or a lost filling can all lead to a painful dental infection (toothache). this occurs when bacterial infection grows at either the base of a tooth or inside the tooth itself. the symptoms are local inflammation and swelling, and a marked sensitivity of the tooth and/or neighboring teeth.

infections require treatment by a dentist. there is a threat of the infection spreading into the bone and sinus cavity. the only treatments available in the field are pain relievers such as aspirin or ibuprofen. evacuate the patient promptly."

This is awful...it isn't very bad ALL of the time...but it never goes away. My gums aren't swolen, you can't push on a place and make it hurt more or any less. Just way way deep at the root of my teeth aches.

If I drink something hot or cold.....BOY that is like I was stabbed with a flaming ice pick!!! I have an appointment with the dentist. I think it is a sinus thing. I haven't had a runny nose or anything (which is something I thought would be the case with a sinus thing.)

I have been a little "ticky" for days because of this mess. Constant aggrivating pain can do that to a person.

Thanks for the suggestions.... I am trying the compress right now. Thanks again guys.

Your sinus cavities allow for equal air pressure throughout your head among other things. They are interconnected to each other in a sort of daisychain. If the ones above the jawbone and under your eyes becomes clogged, pressure builds up in the cavity and that in turn disrupts the nerves in and over your jawbone. So, it's most common that your nose will not be "runny" as a result. Like I said, I get it two or three times a year and I don't wait - I apply the hot, wet compress directly onto it so as to help the sinus open. Good luck and feel better!

...Don't Worry! Probably nothing more than the radiation you were exsposed to at Chernoble...in the morning you will wake up and find all your teeth on your pillow, problem solved!

Take two aspirins, a valium...bills in the mail...thank you very much...[;)]

snort a small amount of salt water, then put a tablespoon full or hoeseraddish in your mouth, hold it for a few minutes, then swallow it all. This should have your sinuses flowing just fine.
