Make the Penn & Teller thread a sticky!
Even after you take the celebrity appeal out of it (which is frankly minimal anyway), that was precisely the kind of thing we need to be airing all across the US.
Thus far, I think we've made the mistake of assuming that truth will easily triumph over flash when it comes to the hearts and minds of the undecided. That people would prefer a rational truth to an emotional falsehood. I don't think that's been the case. We can change that, though.
This vid fights fire with fire: Libs are experts at high-production-value pieces that are utterly fraudulent. If we can keep the slick and interesting format but substitute rational truth for hysterical BS, I think we stand a good chance of evening the odds.
I've already sent the link to the vid to my entire e-mailing list in the hopes that any fence-sitters they know might well take a second look at the facts.

I loved that piece too. I'm guessing that those who have the power to make or not make stickies are going to look at it and decide not to make it a sticky. It's a good piece; it has a lot of merit. I think they reserve stickies for issues that affect this board more directly. I might be wrong there, but that's my guess. 0 -
I'm arguing that it's not just good, it's potentially a massively useful tool.
A lot of people are not easily swayed by one guy yammering at them about things they don't really understand.
Go hand out pamphlets at a mall some time and see what I mean; people who don't already know and accept the facts will dismiss you without a second glance.
This sort of thing drives the insanity of gun control home in a way I think a lot more people would be willing to stop and listen to.0 -
