AK 30 rd mags
I'm looking for someone who makes a good 30 rd mag for my AK. I bought one at Cabelas today (National Magazines Inc.) and when I got home it wouldn't even fit in my rifle. I see mags on cheaperthandirt.com and other sites, but I'm not sure what to look for. Will just about any steel magazine do the job? I wouldn't think an AK would be so picky about mags since it'll shoot just about any ammo in any kind of condition. Thanks.

Well man the way i see it, if the lip isnt marred or damaged then you got the wrong mag. Make sure the mag is for the caliber of your AK. theres 7.62x39 and 5.45x39. -Chris 0 -
You want imported mags from Bulgaria, Romania, etc. Those are the good ones. Check www.aimsurplus.com
Stay away from the poly. They suck.

they aren't picky about mags. unless you have one that used to be 10-round only and had the mag well enlarged to accept normal mags.
any mil surplus combloc mags work well enough. I forgot who made the best ones, it may have been the east germans.0 -
e. german are the best steel. they have a rib on the back 0 -
I believe the Yugo's have a last round hold open feature. 0 -

I bought 12 of these from Sports Mans Guide for 6 dollars a mag. They were nasty as all get out but they cleaned up real nice I plan on getting some more.

Thanks for the help guys. Krinkov - I checked the box as I returned the mag today, it never mentioned caliber, only that it was for an AK47. If I'm not mistaken, the Kalashnikov rifles that shoot the 5.45x39 are AK74 or AKS74. I could be wrong though, anywho, I'll keep my eyes peeled at the next gun show. 0
