Is that the gold ring of a Leupold scope?

Seems kinda high to me unless that is a 250.00 or 300.00 scope. I have several and most were never used or refurbished and put up. If it is drilled and tapped then it's been bubbaized. IMHO

...The scope mount appears to be the kind that attaches where the rear ladder sight attached(?), but then I have only had two sips of coffee and I can barely see the monitor.

...If it is a M48 or M48A in un-issued condition $275-350 today. $400 is on the HIGH end for one. If it's a ladder type mount, and the scope is worth at least a $100 bucks, it's a decent deal at $400. The only difference between the two, the M48A has a stamped floor plate vs the millied floor plate on the M48. For the difference in price, the M48A is the better deal. The stamped floor plate on the M48A is thick and looks fine, not a cheesy sheet metal affair...[;)]
