Any of you guys remember Guns Magazine. Each month they had a giveaway. Usually a new model just released that they did a big writeup on that issue. What happened to this mag. I just thought of it because of the giveaway post I did earlier today. Just wondered

Sorry but I have already given mine to my buddy. Ordinarily, I don't give a hoot about camo guns.

Why,pray tell, would anyone want a camoflaged gun? It's like having a camo flashlight.

I had a 12 ga S&W pump gun that had some kind of brown coloring on the wood. The finish was in pretty poor condition so I sanded it down and found two different types of wood joined together on the butt. Couldn't figure out how stain was gonna hide that. Camo paint, tape and a cheap front bead from Brownells turned it into a "turkey" gun (and it sold as such) [;)]
Should I have used shoe polish on the metal?

Like I have said in the past; guns are tools, right tool for the job, turkey hunting you need all the cover you can get, no shiny action, no shiny stock, just a camo gun that if you lay it on the forrest floor you might miss place it very easy. Dont have but two in my collection,no need for painting any more of my tools.

I fixed up an old mossy 500 for turkey hunting, purchased an 18" barrel with chokes, painted the barrel flat black then white brown and black patterns, taped the action and purchased a camo stock. I had one of the cnc lathe guys make me a choke for this gun. It is a 12 ga gun,the choke we made was sized for 16 ga full choke, phew !what a pattern it will print, kicks like a mule.I still have it in the case. later during our R&D with making chokes we blew up a mossy autoloader, cracked the barrel and blew a hole in it. This practice is best left to the mfg to work out.
