I would try this one. It would allow to test out actually applying the Duracoat to see if it really is something you want to get into without breaking the bank.

Well, my use isn't for firearms. It's for paintball guns. I treat my equipment very gently so the wear and tear isn't a worry. I also have a high quantity of parts that I need to do to begin with and most of them aren't worth more than spray painting with an aerosol can; but that would quickly degrade. Another thing, I don't much care what my stuff looks like as long as it works. The metal that is there is plenty enough to withstand use. In fact, some of the parts I've been using for several years are still bare metal. This is just a case of 'I know I need the end result, but what tools are required to best do the job?'

Thanks for the reply! Keep them coming. [:)]

...I had a double action Badger for years. If you are not familiar w/AB's...get a single action! A double will let you control the fan(width) of paint and the air pressure w/one button/trigger.

...Single action you control the paint fan by changing tips, not levering the button, MUCH easier in that respect. The tips are no biggie to change out at all. One tip=fine line, Another tip=wider line, etc.

...A double action is fine if you are going into a production run and dont have the 30 seconds to change tips, and you need to be able to juggle, walk on your hands and moon dance at the same time to operate a double action really well.

...Precision makes a very nice single action for $40-$50 bucks, and there well made. I bought two last year when I dumped the Badger and ike them really well. Flea-barf has them, I think...used to...[;)]

...I don't paint guns, I make and paint topwater bass baits.
