Limb saver recoil pads.....
Just put a limb saver on the 760 30-06. Been meaning to put one on for about 25 years now. Finally got around to it. Love the gun but it kicks like a mule. Did'nt fit exactly right but was pretty darn close. I did have to get one for a Rem 700 as they did'nt have one for the older 760. Are these that much better than the run of the mill slip on type?? I guess when I get a chance to shoot it, I'll find out.

Supposidly, the "atmospheric" chambers do a better job of absorbing "felt recoil". I have tried both, not that much difference, that i could feel.

I guess I'm a little cheap on some things, and 35 bucks for a recoil pad was a bit much for me. But that gun has left one to many bruises on the shoulder..... 0 -
The "slip-ons "are damn-near the same.How many shots u take in a day, is what will dictate what pad U use.Sighting-in and hunting is normally just a few shots. I wouldn't be "PLINKIN" too much with my "O6"...lol[B)] 0 -

I put one on my sons 30-06 Rem 700 when he was 9 years old and small for his age and he new complained about recoil. Well worth it. 0 -

My Rem 700SPS 300 Ultramag is standard with a limbsaver made recoil pad. Same pad, different name. Very tolerable recoil.[:)] 0 -

When I was growing up, none of my dad's high-power rifles and shotguns had recoil pads. Then I bought an 870 two years ago and it had a Limbsaver pad on it. Made a world of difference. If I ever buy a recoil pad, Limbsaver will be the one. 0
