I really did luck out this time. God saved the best one for the last one, just took me a long time to find her![;)]

Just had immediate family at our wedding. We went to Gatlinburg and got married in the middle of that stream behind Mrs Rogue. Actually it was on that rock we're standing on. Went out to eat afterwards with the family and spent the rest of our Honeymoon in a hotel room[:p][:p]

Couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Mrs Rogue made the bouquet herself. We just spent about 250 bucks on the whole wedding I think.

Thanks sig. I don't think you did too bad yourself.[:D][:p] And I DO feel pretty lucky to be with her.

We had 124 people at our wedding. The wife and I paid for everything ourselves. We wanted to control who was there and didn't want people we didn't know (like our parents' friends, business associates, etc.) there.

It was just friends and family, and a great time.

Hand full of family at mine, at my parents' house.

Now for those of you with daughters, if your wife didn't have a big one your daughter will have to have everything mama always wanted but didn't get! Oldest daughter had a really big impressive wedding - wife did most of the work, I wrote the checks. With lots of help keeping expenses to a minimum it was about $7k 13 years ago. I can hardly wait until daughter #2 gets married.

I don't know, maybe 3-4000. Mrs. Plaid says it was 3500. We kept it very practical. The cake cost more than the dress. The dress cost about as much as the flowers. She threw it together in about 3 months.

Married in St Mary's church in 1950. Had about 18 people at the wedding and a small reception at my mother in laws house for those 18. Nothing fancy, just sandwitches and a few drinks. I was married in my usual suit, her in a new dress. Not wedding type. Still together after 57 + years of marriage. It aint the wedding cost that counts. It is what comes afterwards. Same as these expensive "proms" and graduation parties for young uns.

well lets see if I can remember back that far

Big wedding at church and MIL rented the country club with a live DJ with open bar cant remember how many folks came but it was over 100
they even pitched in and paid the dj to stay an extra 2hrs.
Id say she spent somewere between 15-25000. but what a party [:D]
the only cost to me was the honeymoon [:D][:D]

Sig - another neat thing about her - I noticed pretty quickly,
may I add, is that Deb can go toe to toe with anyone - put
me quickly and firmly in my place! Love it! She's a nifty little
lady who stole our heart! Hope to meet her (and you, too, of
course) ... but if for some reason you can't make it ... just send
    her on down anyway![:o)]

We had one wedding but 2 receptions. I moved about 100 miles about 3 years before we got married so we had a lot a friends in both areas and decided that it would be easier for the wedding party to drive than all the guests. We got married on a Friday in August 1990. Had the 1st reception that evening. It was in the Detroit area (Eastpointe) and there were about 220 invited at $18 plate plus booze which was about $600. That included the hall because the hall was owned by my Aunt and Uncle. It was a really nice formal hall. we had about 20 no-shows with rsvp's. We ended up paying the help to stay later because we were supposed to be done by 1 am but nobody wanted to go home yet. We still had over 100 people there at 2 am.

My Godfather's son worked at the Tux rental place. We got a good deal on the tux's, mine and the ring bearers were free and we all got free extra shirts for the 2nd reception.

The 2nd reception was on Sunday-2 days later. This one was at the local K of C hall and no RSVP. We invited about 350 and had about 275 show up. That one was about $6 a plate (plus booze) but much less formal-8 foot tables and metal folding chairs. The hall was cheap because I am a member and the guys even cooked up a pan full of venison for the guests that wanted it. It was a huge hit. People actually talked about our reception all around town.

Both had DJ's instead of a live band and a few people still comment what a blast they had and that was almost 17 years ago. All in all-we probably spent about 8 or 9 grand including 2 photographers, 2 videographers and 2 DJ's.

We invited the whole family-told the people to bring their kids and have a great time. My co-workers in LE all attended and brought their kids as well.

We paid for almost everything ourselves-neither of our families could afford it. The people in our wedding party chipped in on the shower and pre-wedding dinner the night before. Our guests were very generous and we got enough cash and gifts that we got about all our money back. We used the cash on a honeymoon in Hawaii (10 days-4 on Oahu, 3 on Kawaii and 4 on Maui) which cost about $5500 including souveniers and gifts. My father in law gave us $1000 for a wedding gift.

All in all-ours went off real well. The last 17 years has at times been a little more difficult, but we are both still on our 1st marriage so we must have done something right.

26 plus years ago, I married my High School Sweatheart. 200 + guests, It was a rather formal affair, rented hotel ballroom, catered meal, etc. I am sure it cost my father in law a ton of cash.

How many? I think about 15 including the preacher and the organ player. I'd have to ask the wife, she is better at remembering those kinds of details. We paid for it all.

Some of you guys' weddings cost more than my house! My third (and last) wedding: me, her, preacher, her friend. I was mowing the yard at her house and the preacher called a said he had a few minutes. Afterward, I went back to mowing the yard.
