Range Report OC17 Police Magnum
The neighbors dogs keep coming in the yard and I saw this at the gunshop and figured I'd try it out...OC17 Police Magnum....it's a mini fire extinguisher bottle of pepper spray.
Sure enough tonight the dogs were outside the window barking so I went to see how the stuff worked. It sucks. The range is about 4 feet and the nozzle just makes a big fog....you better step back a few steps after spraying and spit a few times to get the pepper off your own lips....and the wind better not be blowing.
Not impressed...range is insufficient.

Sounds like you bought the fogger version. If you want distance, you need to look for the stream version. A normal size can of stream version should reach out to 15ft. 0 -

I've been sprayed with that stuff for training. Big deal. I'd hose a stray if it was a repeated nuisance in a heartbeat. 0 -
I bought a can of the stuff for my wife a while back. I must have got the fogger too because it sucked. The way I look at it, if a dog comes onto my property and tears my stuff up I tell the owner. After that it disappears. I have a 3 year old. In my opinion a dog that will damage property is a threat to my child. I respond accordingly. 0 -
Slingshot or pet skunk should work just as well. 0
