I might have figured something out
I don't care too much for red dot or reflex sights. I use to, but now when I try to use them, I see a double dot. Then I remembered getting a scratched lens while working at the Mill last year. Could the image of the dot be reflecting off of that scratch causing a double image?

I doubt it. Sounds to me like you might be focusing both eyes on the red dot, i.e double vision. 0 -
I see the double dot with one eye closed. It's not quite a double, more of one dot and a shadow. 0 -

If your red dot sight has a brightness adjustment, try turning it down a bit and see if that helps.
