For older milsurp rifles (and modern you tend to shoot a lot) I found info on a DC bore cleaner. I adapated an AC to DC transformer to replace the batts. Good for that .22 you shoot the snot out of too,...there is so much crap down in the grooves that you cant see, even though it looks super clean, it's not...[;)]

...I'm sure it would...the ingredients would clean BP guns by themselves, so I dont see why not. Seems no matter which cleaner you use, or how much w/a brush, or jag and patch....always some crud left in the grooves. The crud gets lifted out of the grooves w/this and it attaches to the steel rod...then you just wipe the rod down w/a rag...and swab out the bore with your favorite cleaner...[;)]
