    I noticed that....it looks kind of like "peeling" more than anything. I don't know what the story on these are....I just tried to get a good pic of the place and put them up for a penny.

    You can't see it from the inside...I almost want to try some wood glue on the place, but I am afraid I will make things worse if I try anything.

    I really want whoever wins to notice that place...I plan to e-mail the winner and make certain they did see it.

    ..if it is raised up any, it will take some care in repairing the panel...I would not do anything to it but, I would add a note explaining what it is. IF you know it's there, and it may be a problem and not to dissclose it except by the term "used", is asking for trouble...[;)]

    I was afraid to make too much note of it in the listing....but I really do want whoever wins the grips to know about the place. I have seen a teeny ding on a gun make it sell like it had been dragged behind a truck only because you drew some attention to it in the listing. If I just get a good pic of it...and when the auction ends send a note to the winner saying "you DID see the split-looking thing in pic #4....right?" Maybe everything will be fine.

    Even if the winner wants a discount I will be happy if they just say they see the place before paying and going through the whole return mess.

    ...Afraid you might "hex" the amount these sell for? You just went thru a litney of "reasons" and possible problems of NOT making sure the actual condition of these grips are known; prior to someone bidding on them.

    ...As more of a buyer rather than seller, I would not want to get an em as the winner stating/asking "you knew these may be cracked with a raised area at the the tang cut out", in other words, not really functional. Again not ragging, really! Please just take it as constructive.

    ...This thought process seems rather flawed to me. Why "wait" on a problem that is likely to arise when you can just be out front in the description? So, you don't sell them for the $$$ you want, you surely did not expect "top dollar" for grips in this condition?

    ...NOT ragging Casey, it's just with your "luck" with auctions at times, being up front is ALWAYS the best way to go, you know that. Why "deal" with a problem when you can avoid it completely?

    ...It appears the grips were maybe loose when the gun was fired, and the recoil caused at least a "raised" area by the tang cut out...[;)]

    ...and yes!...If I am in a buying mood (more often than I have the $$$ to) and you have a Colt I like/want, I have no problem buying from you!...hate that I was not able to snag the last Defender you sold! Ive finally decided my Colt's dont have to all be full size[:D]
    ...probably find a LW C Commander (series 70, maybe 80), all original next...maybe an Officer...grown to like the little fellas...[8D]
