Picked my ammo up yesterday from the UPS hub. I knew I wouldn't be home for the truck, so I had to arrange the pickup.

Just one TINY problem...you could've fit more ammo into this can you sent me...[:D][:D][:D]

After your post about the Chile Colorado the other night, I found the recipe and fixed some. That was delicious. I added some cheese to it and it was awesome. Thanks.

    Thanks again.

I have been looking at getting a Mil-Spec 1911 .45 as my put up gun. I have looked at the Springfield Mil-Spec and one made by High Standard because they are around the same price. I see you are a die hard Rock Island Armory fan and I was wanting some input from you on the quality of these guns. Fit/Finish/Reliability/ACCURACY just a typical over all review. I am weary a bit of a gun made in the Phillipines but if they are good they are good.Any info you can share is appreciated. I dont ever practice shooting out to 25 yard I keep it at 10(30 feet). If somebody is 25 yards from me they arent enough of a threat yet for me to engage with a handgun so my version of accuracy is not groups at 25 yards its will this gun keep em all within the 10 ring or very close proximety of the 10 ring at 30 feet.

quote:EDIT # 2: I have realized that we have alot of forum members that do not have the 1000 posts required but have been productive members for more than a year. So I will allow those with 1 year or 1000 posts to enter. My porpose for this was to keep people from joining for the sole porpose of winning a gun, and not to exclude other productive members. So those meeting one of those requirements will be eligable to enter.

So does the opposite hold true too? There's plenty of folks that's been around here for awhile that hasn't been productive. Does that disqualify them?? [:D][:D] (I'm including myself in that group)

Sir, you asked a fair and honest question on another thread and it would be rude of me not to give you an honest answer.

Normally I enjoy posting my thoughts more than I do reading others replies. But strangely there is a little flock of idiots here who will carefully read, study, ponder, and then launch long, wordy replies to almost anything I post. So in that regard, I guess all of us are happy.

Anyway, back to the subject. You were, unlike many, polite in your post so I will reply to your question. I chose to take some anti-depression medication in the early 70's. I committed no acts that would even hint that I ever was a threat to any innocent person. I would have felt very wronged if under those circumstances I had lost or had my gun rights curtailed.

So, in regards to the question you asked me. If you have not been offically adjucated by a professional and fair medical team and by a professional and fair court as being a danger to society, then I would not want you to lose your gun rights. What people like you and I HAVE done should be more important than what we MIGHT do. What we might do is mere speculation. What we have done is a fact. For example if we have acted out violent agression against an innocent person.

Now I am not trying to tell you what to do or how to raise your children, but in regards to you trusting your children around an unattended loaded firearm, please remember that once a bullet is fired, it cannot be called back. I honestly do not want to ever hear of any firearm accidents for anyone on this forum (or anywhere else for that matter.)

I myself have a now 7 year old grandson running around my house yet I will not rid myself of always having a loaded firearm handy. So I spent about $35.00 and bought a digital safe for my nightstand. I have it programmed so by only pushing two buttons I can access my loaded and chambered handgun. Just FYI

In a post here awhile back, I mentioned about some type medicine my daughter and son in law were taking to stop smoking. You mentioned it might be like you had tried. Daughter came to visit today, less than two months, both are back smoking. Did that stuff work for you or is it a placebo?
