Phoenix zoo, if it is not too cold. Honeybear's Barbeque has great sandwiches for lunch. A couple of antique malls there. Probably some good gun shops, but I have not found those yet. I also like the Botanic Garden. Bank One Stadium is cool during the baseball season. If you like Indian Arts and have a car, drive south on 10 to the Salt River Rez. There is a visitor center with some nice Maricopa, Pima, and Oodaham (Papago) work there. 0 -
Go the the FBR golf tourny - final round sunday 0 -
Go east on I-10 and out past Chandler a few exits is a decent indian casino. I have ussually allways walked out of there a few hundred ahead![:D] 0 -
Eat lunch at the Pink Taco in Scottsdale. 0 -
Will look for the Honeybears bbq... Phone book has almost 4 pages of gun shops, would be great to spend the day lookin around but since im here for work, well, wouldnt be a good idea. Antique malls are always good.
Thanks for the suggestion0 -
If you are looking for a great place to eat this evening try La Fontanella, a wonderful Italian restaurant. Phone (602) 955-1213 quickly because they fill up fast on weekends. The food here is so good that Mrs. K and I have actually gone to Phoenix for no reason other than to eat at this restaurant. While the Italian food is fantastic, don't overlook the rack of lamb or the house special; a flavorful filet served with huge with prawns [:p]. 0 -
I have eaten at the Honeybears on Van Buren out by the Zoo. They have a great mustard sauce and good meat. One mall we found was on the west side of I-10 coming in from Flagstaff. No frontage road but the first street west of 10, visable from the interstate, kind of North end of town, don't remember any cross streets. Very large, some nice stuff. 0 -
He Dog, that would be I-17 from Flagg. The mall you're talking about is up there by Anthem. It's the outlet mall, take the Anthem exit, on the west side of Hwy.
If you go west on I-10 to the Loop 101, go north to Glendale exit, Cardinals new stadium on the right, across from that is the new Cabelas store.
A bit further west on 10 to Dysart Rd exit, turn north, about a half block down on the left, turn into Lowes driveway. Follow that back to the Sportsmans Whse.
I've got some great toy stores about 15min from the house! [:D] [8D]
Unless you're really into the golf thing, I'd stay waaay away from the FBR today. The traffic up there in Scottsdale was a nightmare yesterday.0 -
I know a guy that works at a Harley shop. [;)]
Can't ride here at home, maybe when your away?0 -
Thanks R D! That sounds like the place, but did not know it was once an outlet mall. Big place though. 0 -
