The wife and gun control.
Well the good old wife now has a better understanding of gun control. Not that she bought a gun or anything like that.
She went shopping.
Does not sound so bad huh?
Well she had to show her drivers licenese to pick of some of my medicine. Had to sign a paper "proveing" it was her DL.
She then went to get the spray stuff to clean out the keyboard on this computer, guess what ? Had to show a DL again. Had to sign again.
She even tried to get allergy medicine that we all use, had to have a DL and then could not get the 4 bottles she wanted could only get 2.
Then the good son said "hey Dad needs spray paint for his last rocket". Guess what ? Out comes the DL again.
She came home mad. Well all I can tell her "we are all safe now" That is why and how they pass stupid gun laws. Now she can be treated like a scumbag, have the automatic assumption of wrong doings (guilty before the act). To me her anger was laughable, because if I had come home mad at filling out paperwork for a gun she would not have batted an eye about it. She now knows how I (and I bet all of us) feel.
I told her what I have been saying for years, it is not so much gun control as just plain control of people.
Later, Dave.

Yep, good lesson. Glad she was mad. Most people wouldn't bat an eye "You HAVE to. It's the LAW you know." 0 -
The only question is does your wife now support the need for less gun control?
If not, the lesson was lost because most people only care about oppression when it directly affects them.
I know many, many people who complain about not being able to buy antihistamines and cough medicine on demand, but quickly adopt a "oh, but that's different" approach when it comes to gun control.[xx(]0 -
"One man's meat"...
How can we educate them about what the Constitution means??

That is because as our population has gone from rural to urban residents most city folks don't seem to own guns anymore and are afraid of them. TV is full of violence and the message is "guns are bad".0 -
Yup Dave, it's all about control. 0 -
Too true, unfortunately. 0
