dumb question about oil (guns, not auto)

How come the oil from our skin is bad for guns, but the oil we use to clean them is not? Different chemical make up, I guess?

  Lanolin and sweat in your skin cause rust. If your skin secreted gun oil, Hoppe's would be out of business!

  The oil in the skin contains salt along with fatty acids.
  Both which are not good for metal.
