How Is Firearm Shipping Cost Figured?
Everytime I want to ship a firearm, I end up spending $50.00 or more. Yet many of the firearms advertised on GB.com show a shipping cost of sometimes as low as $15-20 dollars. How is that? Am I overpaying someway somehow?
Any suggestions will be appreciated because I am getting to ship to handguns to Taurus and one to Ruger all for manufacturering defects and I doubt they will reimbuse me for my shipping costs. But I always ask them to.

UPS AND FED-X BOTH REQUIRE DEALERS TO SHIP HANDGUNS VIA NEXT DAY AIR WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. HOWEVER, THE POST OFFICE WILL SHIP PRIORITY MAIL UP TO I BELIEVE 3 POUNDS ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY FOR AROUND $4 OR $5. AND GET IT THERE IN ABOUT THREE DAYS. JUST PICK UP THE PRIORITY MAIL BOX AT THE POST OFFICE, WHICH IS LARGE ENOUGH FOR JUST ABOUT ANY HANDGUN, AND AWAY IT GOES. IF THE POST OFFICE WON'T LET AN INDIVIDUAL SHIP A HANDGUN, ANY DEALER CAN DO IT FOR YOU. 0 -
Dealers can also ship Fed Ex Ground...which is a LOT cheaper than overnight. 0
