my project

from this past weekend

by no means a professional job but not bad for my first time [:p]
learned a few things that ill know to do diff. on the next one [:D]
now just have to clean it up and grout it then do some little stuff to it

    picked up an excam ta76 22lr/mag revolver in stainless (didn't find that in the book)cheap...cylinders were 0.005 diff length with cylinder gap of 0.014-0.017...turned cylinders to same length, removed barrel & turned shoulder down till had a gap of 0.004 & redrilled bbl pin & shaped forcing cone...reset ejector housing then final was dress chambers where dry fire had left bur & buff pistol...lockup is inline & fairly snug so i think it will make an OK plinker...fun away to spend couple hours

    WOW you did all that in a couple of hours... That's great, you must have some machine shop. I wish that I had the knowledge and equiprment to do that kind of work. It must feel great to shoot a gun that you resurected and improved.

    thats interesting, Iv'e got a taurus 22 L.R. that I would like to turn into a magnum the only thing that I'd have to do in machine the holes in the chamber, I'm a little worried about if the gun could take the added pressure of the blast of the magnum, right now its just a thought but I'm pondering on it.
    Is your a singl or double action.

    do they make the taurus in 22 mag? if so just get you a cylinder for one in 22 mag, swap out when if want to shoot 22/22 mag

    tilted glasses to right, front sight OK now.....don't know if you can swap taurus cylinder like ruger 22 convt, but have rechambered ruger bisley to 22 mag (cyl length OK) using clymer reamers from brownells...single actions...no fancy equipment...just old mill drill & cheap smithy lathe, drill press & hand tools....self taught, just start in think ahead & do it, ask lots of questions & make mistakes...i am hobbyist not a gunsmith...remember clint eastwood, "mans got to know his limitations" practicing on cheap 22's is fun & prefer steel to alloy

    I have one of them excam pistols with 2 cylenders. It is not a bad little gun for a cheep .22. I do need to file the front site down a little but it shoots pretty good.
