All day fireing my .416 and my friends new 82A1cq
I really am speechless, What a pair of amazing rifles!!
Shot of the day was the first shot ever with the 82A1, 200 YDS. DEAD bullseye with iron sites.
After about three shots we gave up on paper and just started blowing up rocks and concreat barriers, metal pipes, all at appx 300 to 400 yds.
I think they recoild about the same, exept I think the 50 seemed to want to move around allot more,
Its a bit hevier than the 416, even though its a cq, and my 416 has the heavy barrel, even without the whole box of ammo haning off the bottom of the 50:). maybe im just used to the 416.
It is deafantly something to send down 10 rounds of 50 cal. as fast as you can go. DAMB!!!!
As far as long range accuracy I thnk I really still like the 416 even though its single shot It just feels easier to control.
Unfotunatly only to send about 2 down in the time it takes the 50 to put 10 down.
Even though both barret, the trigger pull on the 416 is a bit lighter.
50 cal. cobb vs the 50 cal barrett. the barret just f-ing dominates I mean dominates, they both fire 50 cal rounds if you only ever fired the cobb youd love it, but once you fired the barrett, youd probalby cry if you were the cobb owner!
No offense but from my experince, barrett just domminates in thease big bore riffles...
As far as the two barretts, Its a toss up, I like the 416 thats why I bought it, but the 50 is just as bad, just in diffrent ways.
Its a toss up realy.
I know its pretty hard to get a 82A1, but I think its a little harder to get a 416 currently. Id deffinatly take either one I could get ahold of.
Im just praying for the day I can get a 10 round semi auto in 416 thats the ultimate in barrett there.....
Well just thought Id post a little bit of todays fun.
take care all, have fun shootin'

I was unimpressed with the 82A1. I mounted the Nightforce on it, in lapped tactical rings. I used my torque wrench to do this,..as I have done dozens of times before. Even with Barrett ammo and me shooting it off of my bench, it didn't want to stay on the target board at 550yds. They have a cool factor,....but for accuracy work I'd opt for the armalite or Mcmillan. I didn't have the heart to tell my buddy he had ~$8000 in a turd,..so I smiled and banged away all the ammo he let me.[;)]
the 416 is what I am interested in,..but won't be looking to purchase until components are far more prevalent and proven in accuracy tests.0 -
