i knew someone would figure it out,...the gun looks perfect when i hold it in my left hand and look at the right side of the pistol,. but as soon as i change hands and see the other side that emblem and text just jump right out at me,... so far it seems like a decent pistol,..i'll have to wait and see how it does on the range tomorrow.

so i gotta ask,...... what are you doing in Belarus? can you send me some groovy stuff for my AK's?[:D]

i emailed Sarco about the "unmarked" 1911-A1 slide,.. i hope to hear from them soon,. if not i will have to figure out which one i want from Brownells

so whats the good, the bad, and the ugly about the RIA's?

I have 6 RIA's and love them all!

The only problem I had was on my tactical where the grip screw was crossthreaded at the factory. I called Ivan at RIA/Armscor and he got a new screw and bushing shipped 3000 miles in 3 days with no questions asked.

All of mine shoot great with not a single issue at all and eat every type of ammo I have fed them.

The reason 7 are pictured is the one on top used to look like the middle one in the group of three! I completely redid it with all Wilson Combat parts.

nice looking collection,.. glad there doing good and you like them,.. makes me feel better about this latest impulse buy,.but i have been without a 1911 for about a year,.. i saw it there and the price was hard to say no to,.. so it came home with me

the only thing i changed so far was the grips,..i added the Pachmayr wrap-around rubber grips,.. i am gonna have to look around for some "US" marked ones soon.

so,.. where is a good place to get 1911 mags these days? i think i am going to get one or two more Novak mags to match the one that came with the pistol,..but i would like a box of regular mags to take to the range (i hate reloading mags on the fireing line)

For your Novak Mags look here:

    http://www.advancedtactical.com/

That puts you in direct contact with RIA/Armscor in Nevada.

I primarily use Colt and Chip McCormick mags in mine as I like the flush fit at the bottom of the grip.

I bought those on Fleabay but that is history now so I would look on the auction side of GB or at the gun shows.

You will really like your Rock! They are the best thing going in 1911's unless you want to spend up over $1000.

I use a couple of mine as daily carry guns most of the time unless my clothing does not allow for it and then I go to my Taurus .38 snub in my front pocket.

My 2 oldest ones have well over 6000 rounds each through them without a single problem.

    hmmm,...

i carry a .45ACP Taurus PT-145,...which is 10+1 capicity,..say if i wanted to carry the Rock,..(i'd loose three shots,. but i would gain two and a half inches of barrel)... what kind of holster do you recomend for IWB? or even a shoulder holster? (it will be cold enough for coat here soon)

i had a S.A. 1911 before,. but i never carried it,. and all i have for my little Taurus is some cheap Uncle Mikes for IWB and ankle carry,. not the best but it gets the job done.

and while i am thinking about carry issues,.. any trouble with the 230gr Winchester SXT,. or Remmy Golden Sabers??

I have a RIA Tactical model, and it like Golden Sabres just fine. I didn't have any SXT's, but did put a few Ranger-T's through it, and it ate 'em up.

My Gov't model RIA was partial to HydraShok, but never had a feeding problem with any load, FMJ or JFP (or, even a few LRN, for that matter).

I have many different holsters for many different types of dress. You just need to figure out what work s best for you.

I found that what most people like did not work for me primarilly because I am left handed and wear the gun differently. But I do use alot of Unkle Mikes holsters.

My shoulder rig is a Miami set up with spare mags onth other side from the gun to even the weight out.

Normally when I am carrying a Rock it is either my compact or my comander, but I do carry a full sized from time to time.
