As some of you know, I've been fighting a whole bunch of new zoning ordinances that our city council has been trying to push through. I really hope that I didn't, but I may have stepped on a few toes in the process. My property in town has two residences on it, but it is commercially zoned. I have a hearing tonight to get a Conditional Use Permit, to allow me to continue to live on this property. I hope these folks are not taking things too personally and have grudges that might keep them from granting me my permit...The hearing is at 1830 hours...I've tried to be as nice and forthright with these folks as I can, but they do know that I have every intention of recalling them if they force my hand and try to push these new ordinances through. I have the support for it too.

If they say "NO" threaten to sue all of them. Towns don't like to pay needless lawyer bills. They seem to give in quickly.

I prefer the country too, guys...believe me!...but circumstances have me where I am. You would not believe the crap they are trying to push through.

Good Luck... bunch of people down here fighting zoneing and imminent domain right now. Seems some foreign Corporation wants to put in a toll road...from mehico to kanada!

We got our Conditional Use Permit...well, not exactly but they did give us Non-Conforming use and a letter to rebuild...so it was a win!!! The Conditional Use would have afforded me a few more protections, but is not spelled out in the existing ordinances. Praise God! Maybe they are not too mad at me.

Last time I looked at our counties zoning for rural areas, there was a rule that stipulated how many cats my mom could have on a farm in the country.

ecc this is just the beginning, soon people will want you to run as councelman, then mayor, possibly governor...hmmmmm president?????
could be fun to have a president that would draw his own weapon....

Half the town is already calling for me to run for Mayor...I don't want any part of it!!! The RNC asked me to run for State Senate in WV when we lived back east...I turned them down too. I am NOT a politician.

We lived in the very tip of the Eastern Panhandle of WV...1 mile from the VA line.
