Our Founders Intentions
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL MEN are created equal, that they are ENDOWED by their CREATOR with certain UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, that among these are LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS - That to SECURE these RIGHTS, Governments are instituted among MEN, deriving their just Powers from the CONSENT of the GOVERNED, that WHENEVER ANY FORM of GOVERNMENT becomes DESTRUCTIVE of these ENDS, it is the RIGHT of the PEOPLE to ALTER or ABOLISH it, and to institute NEW GOVERNMENT, laying its FOUNDATION and PRINCIPLES, and organizing its POWERS in such form, as to THEM shall seem most likely to effect THEIR SAFETY and HAPPINESS. PRUDENCE indeed, will dictate that GOVERNMENTS long established should not be changed for light or transient causes; and accordingly all EXPERIENCE hath shewn, that MANKIND are more disposed to suffer, while EVILS are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to wich they are accustomed. BUT when a long train of ABUSES and USURPATIONS, pursuing invariably the same OBJECT, evinces a DESIGN to reduce them under absolute DESPOTISM, it is THEIR RIGHT, it is THEIR DUTY, to THROW OFF SUCH GOVERNMENT, and to provide NEW GUARDS for their future SECURITY. Such has been patient SUFFERANCE of these COLONIES; and such is now the NECESSITY wich constrains them to ALTER THEIR FORMER SYSTEM of GOVERNMENT. The HISTORY of the present King of Britain is a HISTORY of repeated INJURIES and USURPATIONS, all having in direct OBJECT the ESTABLISHMENT of an absolute TYRANNY over these STATES. To prove this, let the FACTS be submitted to a candid WORLD. From the Declaration of Independence. This was NOT only written about Britain but ANY Government who was given the power by the PEOPLE. After reading this wouldnt it stand to reason that the Second Amendment was written so has to give the PEOPLE the means to cast off a tyranical Government and institute one who served the PEOPLE. It sure does not sound like the Second Amendment has anything to do with the National Guard or any Government controled force. What part of UNALIENABLE RIGHTS ENDOWED by MANS CREATOR dont the anti-gun people understand? I dont think our Founders were talking about our Government when they said OUR CREATOR.

Don't let the original intentions of the constitution confuse you with this modern world. This is not 1776. This is the 21 Century, and we are a democracy. I guess what I'm saying is, while the Constitution doesn't change, our interpretation of it does.
Yes, under this logic, if we get enough fundamentalist muslims in America, the interpretation of the Constitution changes again. Bunk!
It is what it is. That's why I prefer the conservative constructionists in the Supreme Court. Even still they get "it" wrong sometimes.0 -

1776-2006 is a long time and the Gubment has passed laws that supercede the constitution, such laws almost make it impossible to change the Gubment let alone getting enough people to rise up in an armed rebellion which is also against the Gubment Laws. I think they call it Treason:

Buy a copy of "THE FEDERALIST" if you get a chance. It give you some insight to the intentions of the framers. Bought my copy on an Estate sale of a Great Aunt and Uncle of mine. 0 -
The intentions of the Framers of the Constitution?? Were they not mostley affluent men? Under the thumb of the British Gubment this Affluency was threatened. Ever notice it says "ALL MEN" , women and people of ethnic backgrounds were not included in the constitution. The only way Washington and them boys could maintain their Status Quo was to break off with the British Rule and start their own Gubment, and the only way to do it was to include the rest of the country and they were willing to fight for it. Cant say too many people in this country are willing to fight for their way of life..[:(]
