Why not take it to the vet instead?

They had been to the vet a few days ago. The dog had gotten worse and the vet said it would have to be put down if it got worse.

    It is done allready.

The thing was in bad shape and was most definatly suffering.

I made it quick as to limit any pain.

I don't enjoy that type of thing but sometimes it has to be done.

These are new nieghbors of mine and the people who lived there before had the same type of thing happen to two of thier dogs. The vet was not able to save either one of those either.

There is something over there that these dogs are getting into that is doing them in. This dog showed the same type of stuff as the other two, and they go within a few days.

Could there be some antifreeze the dogs are getting into? They love it because it tastes sweet, it will kill them.

That's something I hate having to do as well, but it's much better than letting them suffer in agony.

I am sure you did your very best for him, but a dose of barbiturate is really painless and very humane. I assume you buried him too, so they don't have to come back and find him? Good Neighbor.[^]

Had to do the same thing just a few weeks ago. Hated to do it, though. Better than the vet bill to euthanize them, in my opinion.

    Of course!

And I agree about the barbiturate, but I also understand about the charges that a vet charges. And that is what my nieghbor was trying to avoid as they are on a limited income.
