I think anyone that frequents gun shows has made that mistake at least once, possibly twice, but probably not a third time.

    Yep, mine was a Valmet M76 7.62 X 39, he had it for $1600.00

When I saw the Price tag I thought it was a PTR 91 or some Cobbled together parts rifle.
When I checked the receiver it was a German HK91[:(]

I'm assuming you went to the Puyallup one as well MVP. I picked up some 00 Buck, a 30 rnd magazine for my 10/22, and some rings for my no.1. I had a great time, can't wait til i turn 18!

    It was the Puyallup Show[^]
It was really dead when I got there at 8am which was nice I made it through in 2 hours with hardly anyone in my way and was able to see anything anytime. I havn't been going as much as I used to but I should because I always see some great buys.
Today I just ended up with a Norinco MAK90/Kvar Bullpup Ak47. I think Century did the conversions. I really like the way they did these and am looking forward to trying it out at the range.
I also was able to meet elbesta who posts on here. Nice guy with a very neat and organized/prefessional set up. I think he had 7 tables.

Reminds me of the pristine model 19 S&W nickle I passed up for $325 a couple of years back. Made my way around the show to "mull" on it--came back and it was GGGGGGGOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE! Dang it!

Don't worry; it will only haunt you for...um, say, the rest of your life!!![V][:(]

Tough luck. Today, at our show, I walked by a 1953 Hi-Standard Sportking for $350. Didn't see it. Oh, by the way it was in it's original box, unfired.[V][V][V][V]. My buddy bought it though and is happy as heck to get it.

Yup, been there and was too stupid to buy many times. Like in the early 90's there was a fresh case of 10 russian Para SKS's, still wrapped from the factory, for $69 each of $600 for the whole case, walked away from that one to think about it, they were gone in 10 minuts, still kicking myself too.

Or the Lefever C-Garde sidelock 20 Gauge that I was offered for $350, I walked away to think about it, it was bought by the guy standing behind me in line. One just like it was just sold at a local auction for $11,000. Boy that hurts.

Or there was the customized Mauser 98 that was chambered in 6.5x55. This thing had a beautiful laminate thumbhole stock and a douglas priemum barrel, plus it came with leupold mounts and rings, it even had a great sling. Asking price was $185, but I only had $100 left in my wallet so I went to the ATM to pull a bit more cash. Buy the time I got back it was gone. Like a dummy I didn't say anything to the guy selling the gun, like "hold this for me". The guy that bought it actually sold it the next day for $300. OOOOHHHH, the agony......

I could go on and on, but I'm starting to get depressed[V][xx(][:(]

Silly me, it's been so long...can't remember.

    Do gunshows have product grouping/segregation?

Let's say you're selling handguns, are you told to set-up in section "B", for instance, and if you're selling knives, you are directed to set-up in section "G"...you get the idea.

Or is it a crap-shoot of mixed tables? Please forgive my apparent ignorance. The last G/S I attended was the CADA show in the midwest in 1991. Is there a trick to attending to get the most out of my time without walking around aimlessly? Any tips? Thanks, Joe

It's the crap-shoot thing around here. Most recently, it's one table of serious shooters interspersed with 4-8 tables of flea market crap. Junk jewelry, "fantasy" (read Chinese, Pakistani) knives, kangaroo jerky, ho-house candles, you-name-it. Anything NOT related to guns seems to be the fare.

And they're charging upwards of $7 to enter!!!

Worse yet, you get to browse along with a mix of underwear-exposing gangstas eyeing the fine quality Hi-Points and the smelly, overly-tattooed and tooth-deficient knuckle-draggers wishing their newly-purchased H&R Handi could be made to go full-auto.

Ah, nothing beats the thrill of a gun-show!
